Helios top cap question

I bought an authentic helios recently. Love the device, only problem is trying to get the top cap off.

It is impossible to remove with my hands. What is the best method to get it off?

I would consider threading it into my device and then pulling hard on the top cap, but am worried that will damage the threading. How do I get this thing off easily without damaging the top cap of the helios (scrapes)?

My husband sanded the inside of my helios with a fine (drimel type) grinding stone. It was done gradually checking the fit often. It fits nice and snug but is easy to remove now. Mine is a clone but this should work for yours also. I take care of my clones just as I would take care of any authentic.

The O rings are a little tight try putting some juice on them mine is all so tight I just wiggle it off attached to a mod

Sorry, I guess I didn't respond accurately. Of course, the top cap comes off the base. But the top cap itself, above the AFC ring, is press fit. It isn't designed to take apart.

Mine is in two pieces. Top cap and base (can not be taken apart for changing color of air flow ring). The kind of problem I had with mine could not be fixed with lubing the orings (tried that 1st thing). No way could you put smaller O ring for better fit either. The fit of the cap was tighter than any I have ever seen. My helios was not being used because I just couldn't get the cap off, it took sanding down just a little. Works great now.
