Removing cartomizer with tank full?

So ok, this is my first tank. It's a Bud tank from pure smoker. Anyway, it looks just like the new smoke tech dct tanks I got in today from Hoosiers. So it's pretty much the same tank.

So I've run about 20 ml through this tank and just wanted to see how long my carto would last. It's now at the point where it still vapes but its not putting out the vapor like it did when new. I'd like to change out the carto.

The problem is I have about 3.5ml in the tank. Is there a simple way to save the juice? I'm considering trying to syringe it out. Is that my only option? Seems like it will be hard and probably messy.

Anyone have any other ideas? Can I remove the top cap or will it cause the whole thing to fall apart??

I had to do that a couple of times. When I had a full tank I used a syringe to get the juice out. Another time it was about 1/2 full so I just tilted it at an angle and slowly pulled the carto out. When it was almost out I laid the tank horizontal so the juice wouldn't run out. The carto actually takes up a lot of room in there so even if it looks quite full by the time you remove it you're ok. Keep it horizontal to put the new carto in.

Take the top cap off, pour the juice back into your bottle, change the cart, refill the tank.

+2 on Flyer's advice. usually i put all my "juice on the go" in a 5ml bottle for ease of portability. it's also nicer in case of carto swapping when you don't want to pour "denatured" juice back into your bottle and want to use it right away.

Say umm, why don't people just pull the cap off all the time to refill? Seems like you could get a lot more juice in there doing it that way instead of bottle filling down the side?

Putting the cap back on creates pressure in the tank and pushes juice up into the cart often flooding it. Ask me how I know this

So its ok to pull the cap out for removing juice but not for adding it?

I slide the tank up and pour the juice back into a bottle through the top hole. It doesn't get all of it, but enough to put the tank on its side to remove the old carto and insert a new one.

I always fill my tanks from the bottom, I push the carto up so it's about the Oring then I take the bottom cap off fill then replace the bottom cap then slide the carto back down there is no pressure this way you could also do this from the top the opposite way.
