Although Smokie has had some pretty good reviews in the past, I think he got a little overeager with this one. Pointing out superfluous faults may have been his way to legitimize this review. His complaint about the plastic tubing is ridiculous and I agree with Robert about the battery stacking. For someone as knowledgeable as him, endorsing the stacking of unprotected battery's is inexcusable.

But as far as the inadequate door magnets and its tendency to slide off, I think he is spot on. May of the other highly respected reviewers (Grimm & Basilray) have also spoke on this aspect. The mini and Grand need more magnets or a better method to retain the door. I'm not trying to offend, but at this point it seem this is universally acknowledged as a serious issue that needs attention.

I went from a cart+atty+510 slim battery to a cartomizer+510 slim battery to a Reo Grand.

I suppose it was natural for me to disregard the door issue after dealing with the previous and numerous inconsistencies and hassles that went along with my previous PV. Then again, I almost always have a roomy shirt pocket to drop my Grand in, so the door never gave me any problems.

As far as reviewers such as Grimm & Basilray go, they provide a lot of good information, but they should really drop the pretense of being fair & unbiased. I like Bigicedog. He entertains, gives tons of useful info, and owns up to his own leanings.

I have never had my grand door come off and as far as pocketing the the mini. I no to make sure my hand is touching part of the door.
I really don't see any need in extra magnets. The mod is so small how could you not grab the door. I see the magnet issue as a nit pick. If it was a problem I would certainly change it. I am open to ideas if enough people disliked the magnet setup I would change it . Its impossible to make everyone happy I can only try and hope for the best. There isn't a mod made that people wouldn't find something they would change its just the way it is. I have given the ball and spring some thought I may implement this on the mini 2.0 yes there is going to be a mini and grand 2.0 rounder softer feel. I welcome peoples opinions I hope no one thinks I am being harsh I don't mean to come off that way

Hey Rob,Havent been in in awhile, glad to see everyone still kicking..My thoughts on the magnets would be to go with a ball and spring.I have had 2 of my magnets fall out twice, each time I reglued, and the 3rd time one fell out and got lost..Ball and spring definetly the way to go..And for the record. My grande otherwise has been working great..Door with one magnet..Not so great..lol... :)

I put a strip of black tape (electrical tape) onto the bottom inside the doors. That along with electrical tape around the battery eliminates a lot of the rattling noise. It needs to be said though, that the rattling noise is minimal and only occurs at random times, and as Rob said it's more of a nit pick issue.

If an extra magnet on the bottom would fix the rattling, then maybe that's a good idea. However, IMO it works just fine the way it is :)

Rounded reos 2,0 sound like a great ideal :). I can not wait for that. how long intill we can see any proto pics of these :)

Also i agree on what kevin has said on my reo my magnets fell out a few times after i super glued them and put some epoxy on it they never fell out again but yeah besides thats no issues. Keep up the crazy labor work :)

Not that I'm aware of...but the recommended batteries are the AW IMR 14500's. You may use other batteries (many do) at your own risk. I would not recommend stacking batteries in the mini for any reason. :)

What about two 16340 3.6v (CR123A) protected Li-Ion in a Woodvil with a normal (not LR) atomizer? Is this the right way to try 6v vaping? Thanks for advices..cheers.

I do not own a reo but I would not suggest whAt you are saying, I would get two 3volt AW brand Lifepo4 batteries. or even the 3volt tenergys. If you use two 3.6 volt batts then you need a higher resistance atomizer . thats my opinion

I haven't had any problems with the magnets. The ball and spring idea isn't bad, other than it's a moving part that could wear out.
I had the same Idea I am sticking with the magnets. As many mods as I have sold there has been very few complaints.I could put a stop on the bottom of the mod but again I don't think its worth the effort or the extra cost just to make a handful of people happy.I have found some stronger magnets even this wont stop the door from coming off if your pulling it out of a tight pair of jeans by the atomizer

The simplest fix would probably be to put a stop at the bottom, so that the door can only slide up - that would prevent it from coming off when taking it out of a pocket, etc. But again in my case, I haven't had any particular problems with the doors coming off the way they are - I use the electrical tape handle or a ribbon around my batteries, which keeps a little friction on the door.

*edit* - One of the upsides to the current design is that it is pretty easy to clean out the tracks if they get dirty. Just another of many things that make the REO simple to maintain.

Personally, I like the way the door slides now, and the magnets used. If I want to check my liquid level I can do it one handed, and if I want to squonk with the door up it's no problem. I do however like the idea of rounder edges on the 2.0.. Just because it gives me another reason to buy another Reo :)
