Hey Everyone. I've done some searching here in the forum and out on the web, but I can't find anything that I might be able to substitute for the plastic bottle in the REO that would still allow squonk functionality. Here are some things I've imagined:

Basic
- Natural Rubber Bottle
- Silicone Bottle
- Animal Skin Bladder (j/k)

Engineered
- Combination of a spring-loaded plunger lid that drives an internal, ratcheted compression cylinder (like a syringe with a locking mechanism so it maintains the new positions when moving up the cylinder).
- Similar concept to the first item, but use a glass cylinder with an internal plunger to contain the liquid....and a small balloon underneath the plunger which you could inflate via an external button. This would move the plunger up until the air pressure was released in the balloon.
- Miniature bilge pump.

Having fun with the ideas, but ultimately hoping someone has found an alternative out there and would like to share. Thanks!

Wow - that's some creative thinking, right there.

Without wishing to pee on your bar mitzvah, is this maybe a solution in search of a problem? Are you encountering an issue with the plastic bottles?

BTW, there are certainly alternative plastic bottles to use, should you want.

Ha! Bars are for dancing on, not ...... on. ;) So I don't have any particular performance problems with the plastic bottles (I've read about people boiling them if they need a bit softer squeeze). I like to avoid keeping liquids of any kind in plastic, even BPA free, because of potential leaching/outgassing.

I got tired of filling bottles 2-3 times a day so I got one of these...

I recently discovered this:

Ucan V2.0

I have some ideas for rigging this up to the REO Grande innards, but no idea if it would actually fit in the box. Perhaps with a custom replacement lid.

Its 22mm in diameter. The Reo Grand is only around 20mm thick... Won't work...
