What kind of juice do you guys use with RXW? I understand some folks like it, and I'm glad it works for them. But I do think the juice you use will have a tremendous impact on performance. For instance, I use NET juices and we all know Naturally Extracted Tobacco liquids will gunk up coils, and will choke off any wicking materials. If my coils got to the point of ST's coils are in his photos, I would be getting a nasty taste using the juice I use.

I'd love to try RXW with these NET juices, but I would have to try it out first. They want $8 a foot. Can't afford the cost of using it for the long haul. And I'm confused as to how continuous washing and dry burning will keep giving off the freshest taste. I really want fresh tasting juice, and if changing KGD every 2 days will give me that.... then it's worth it. It's half an inch anyways, and just takes a few minutes to dry burn the coil, and insert new KGD. (Gotta keep in mind, I used SS Mesh in Tanks for a long time. SS Mesh is like riding a bull. Can't truly master that stuff.)

I also think the Kanthal you use will have an impact as well. I've noticed a difference between Kanthal A1 from TemCO, and Lightening Vapes. Shawn uses a proprietary wire that I suspect is Silver Kanthal (has a Silver color), and it does not come annealed. TemCO Kanthal comes annealed, and seems to gunk up my coils faster than Shawn's Silver kanthal does.

No doubt cotton is cheap but we're not talking break the bank here. About 50 cents worth lasts me over 4 months.

If you're happy with your vape from cotton great. If you hate dry hits, cotton after taste and such give it a try. After you tweak and get this right it performs for months. Did your first ever cotton wick perform at peak?

I'm using bobas bounty. I found there was dry hits as well with readywick. To say there's no dry hits it BS I think. No, cotton takes a few hits to get it tasting good. The Rayon seems to be a little better.

I'd like to use the readywick, but as me and a few others mentioned, there seems to be some flavor loss. For the hell of it, I'm going to redo the RM2 now as prescribed in this thread and see how it goes.

Everything I read said to put a paper clip through the ready wick, then wrap a coil around it.

Yes, with cotton, coil first and put the wick through after. With the Readywick, I don't seem to have a suitable screw driver. Is there an american drill bit size that is recommended? I have the 2mm wick.

Any idea which page on that thread tells you how to coil and wick it?

Even on RBA Supplies site in the video he recommends a 1/16" drill bit, (for 2mm), to wrap a coil "first" then thread the wick in....

Tried this many different ways. Readyxick = less flavor.

Obviously you didn't try the recommended way...

I have never once said you never get dry hits and the same for most other posters here in your thread as well. The thing that was pointed out was that the dry hit was no where near as nasty as cotton, rayon, ekowool, silica, or any other wicking media...

Maybe if you would have taken the time to research the product or even ask questions, you would've known what size drill bit or mandrel that was used for success with RxW. There is a search function here on the forum and all you had to do was use it and you would've found the other thread that Tim had made where use and techniques have been discussed. Seems simple to me...

It doesn't matter what liquid you vape or what resistance you wrap your coil, to have success with RxW. I will say that if you set up your RDA "properly" with RxW, you will experience what a lot of us have and that is a very enjoyable low maintenance vape to go along with the REO... I think more than one person had pointed out your coil placement was not optimal nor was the wicking, according to the pic you posted...

If you want to chalk the RxW up to a fail, that is your right to do it, but don't do if you haven't even setup the RDA properly to use it....

I went back to the Rayon. The other problem is I have a really bad cold, so right now is not the time to try to discern the flavor differences between the Rayon and the ReadyXwick.

I spent I think $20 on the sheite, so believe me, I want to use the stuff, and I want to like it. But to me, the Rayon is smoother, less harsh and more flavorful. I'm going to give it another shot when this cold goes away. I did try it before I had this cold, but that was with the paper clip method.

I hope you have better luck with it now that you know a few more tips in being successful with it and I am sorry if I came off kinda harsh in my last post, but I strongly feel that if you don't research and setup a product properly, then you cannot consider it a failed product. It's just not fair to the product. I would be good for you to go through the other thread and read it entirely. There us some great feedback in there. There were a few in there, like you, that had problems and they were able to get them worked out with the aid of pics and feedback. I do know that not everything works for everybody in vaping.... That was a hard and costly lesson to learn... Good luck.
