Replace cartomizer filling

I've watched a hundred videos on re-stuffing cartridges but can't find anything on replacing the filling in a cartomizer. I'm using my last disposable carto now and have had to throw out all the rest due to horrible burnt taste and ruining them trying to re-stuff them with various materials lol. I have some empty ones ordered but there not gonna be in till Monday or Tuesday and it's only Friday night. Anyone have any ideas? I'm kinda desperate now, thanks

...ya can't really restuff a carto...if you are getting a burnt taste, you are either not filling properly or not topping them up enough while in use...you can boil them clean, IF they haven't gotten burnt tasting...pbusardo has a great video on youtube covering this cleaning method....good luck and Happy vaping..........

Well, do I have any concrete answers? No... BUT, that being said, two things that may help (one more than the other).

First off, I am about in the same boat, ordered some CE2's from gotvapes not realizing that it'd more than 4 days to get here... Shoulda stuck to someone i've ordered from before. Anyway, I had some clear cartos leftover from a ccv 15 carto deal a while back and the cover comes off real easy. Ended up trying a "ptb" mod, which more or less consisted of me wrapping 1 pyramid bag loosely around my carto's diaper. no problems yet but I expect I'll probably get burnt plastic taste at some point and cough my lungs out.

Second, there IS something you can try, since you probably don't have clear cartos. There are several videos on youtube about how to "mod" a carto for dripping. None of them really helped me, I had to poke around and discover how to do it effectively on my own (difficult, because I use mega's... You have to drip pretty precisely to avoid making a giant flippin mess, which I can't do :p)

This is from a guy on ecf: Mod a V4L cartomizer into atomizer for direct dripping - YouTube

Just realized, there is no felt around most carto's i've used... But it still seems like it may work. Just be careful not to burn the "diaper" as I have no idea how bad for you that may be. Keep it moist, etc etc etc, and for jeebus sake, don't try this if you have an automatic batt.

Please be careful on what type of material you are using to try to "restuff" them. Most material contain added chemicals and can be toxic if burned/heated. I haven't heard of anyone doing this, let alone, what to use if it's even possible. Some cartos can be taken apart and cleaned but you use the same material that came with it...just rinse and pat dry.

Yeah, I mainly added that purely for informative purposes. Not really planning on using it for long, and I wouldn't try it on a normal metal carto (inability to see whatever color said filler is turning), but yeah, I would imagine removing the filler and dripping would very well work for the time being.

Thanks for all the replys, I learn new dos and donts every day. I do have an automatic battery lol, so I guess I can't try to drip. I pulled out the stuffing on the other ones I had and the material had actually had burnt holes in it, on all of them, I guess that's why there disposable. Luckily I only have to wait 1 more day. I might have a new problem tomorrow however lol, Ill let you guys know but I have a 906 battery and my cartos coming are 808's, they fit on there but my face will hurt trying to get a good drag lol. I got an 808 off a friend yesterday and it was a long frustrating night. 1 good thing though I did order an 808 battery, but it might still be a pain when it runs dead and I'm out without a decent spare. Thanks again for the advice everyone.

I bet you could carefully unwind some nickel foam from a dead atomizer or better yet use some stainless steel mesh... you might have to carbonize it a little to get rid of the "springy-ness" of it a bit before it'll stay in place... of course if it's going to be in direct contact with the coils, SS mesh would be the best choice but you'd have to make sure it was well carbonized to prevent shorting

I have seen one and only one video of a woman that actually did disassaemble a carto and replace the filler. It was kind of cool but, it looked like an awful lot of trouble for the cost of a cartomizer. If you're just trying to pull the stuffing out the top and shove more in, it's not likely to work. If you're burning them, you aren't keeping them wet enough or you're vaping them too fast for them to wick.

I saw that video too and the kanger cartos come apart nice and easy (I tried it on a stainless steel, horizontal coil one). They may even be easier to put back together since you don't have to put the filler through the coil. Boge cartos, on the other hand, were impossible to pull apart even with pliers.
