replacements caps for Ego-T cartridges

Had a quick question on day 2 of the Ego-T with no real smokes, and noticed it does leak a bit after refilling. I've noticed on supplier sites you can get regular or silicone replacement caps and can replace those instead of the cartridges. Just wondering what the difference is between the 2 and which would be better to purchase? Thanks for any feedback

The silicone caps seems to be the better choice,but that is from a dude who choose not to bother with the eGo attys anymore and raves about extremevizion!

When I used the Ego tanks, I actually preferred the regular caps but I know a lot of people liked the silicone ones better. I didn't notice a whole lot of difference between how they perform ... it's all personal preference. I thought I detected a funny taste from the silicone ones at first but was probably just me. They are easier to get on and off but ... I still preferred the regular ones. Either way I think you would be good to go. Never had any problems getting the hard, original caps off.

I think the trick is to pre puncture the caps so a clean hole is made. I too am on day 2 vaping and one tank leaks, even after changing caps. I think letting the wick puncture it isn't clean enough. Looking at mine, one atty cut it nicely, the other is not clean at all. Mine are silicone. I think with the atty needles, some may be "clean" and some may be rough on the cutting edges.

Solutions I have seen: use a 22 gauge hypo needle that is blunt and place it on the hole membrane, rock it back and forth until the membrane is cut cleanly OR find a brass tube (like from an old pen cartridge) the right size and do the same after you sharpen it with a needle file inserted in the tube and rotate the tube.

I have ordered body piercing needles from ebay to do the job. Just need to blunt the sharp parts with a file and good to go. I think I will even insert the needles into some wood dowel with superglue so I have nice little tools for the job.

BTW, I love my eGo-t better than my dual coil mega carts. When the tank doesn't leak, it is very miserly on liquid and good vapour prod. The Carto flavour tastes funny and it's easy to over fill it since I'm a noob and worry about drying it out.

I've tried both and had more success with plastic compared to silicone.

But, I say my piece and recommend you try other atties. The tank system gets frustrating the longer you use it.

We prefer to silicone ones to the plastic. Didn't notice any difference in vape, but for taking them off to refill the softer ones are much easier

I have 2 Ego T's and I agree Fisherpal that the silicone caps do give off a plasticy taste at first ... it does go away after a bit.

I also agree that I don't notice much difference between the 2 other than the funny taste that the silicone caps have at first, and yes, they do come off easier ... I consider myself lucky in that I have not had any issues with leakage using either cap ... I wonder if those who have had problems with leaking are using genuine Joye Ego T or a knock off?

I have the Joy eGo-T tank kit (1000mah) & it came with both 5 plastic with the tanks & 2 extra silicone caps. Due to the leakage with the 1st 3 plastic caps - I gave up & am waiting for the Ego-C cartos & heads to convert to. I think the syringe punch method maybe the answer to preventing leaks with the T- I may explore that soon as I have gotten fed up with clearomizers & cartomizers & tanks.

Nah, the leaks occur inside the atty and you still get to vape it, just tailpipe it once in a while to clear it out. Then you can vape till the C atty's are available.
