Anyone know of the ash style led cap will fit the newer diamond series batt. I have a dead batt that died via my washing machine and would like a newer style auto. However the diamond clear tip is a bit to "bling" for my tastes.
I'm on shaky ground here lawilli2, I seem to remember somebody else mentioning this exact thing a month or two ago. It was a little different thought. The OP has a loose crystal (bling) so they decided to put an ash cap on it. So I want to say, Yes, but I have never done it myself. I would think it would be easy to remove both and try it. I know the Ash Cap and a small rectangular notch where it meets the edge of the battery housing and can be easily removed with a needle.
Wish I could be more help, good luck. If it works can you reply back in case somebody wants to do the same thing?
But why don't you buy an ordinary battery with a normal ash tip, rather than a diamond tip? Although, don't know when the newer ones will be in stock....
Lawilli2, I'm confused. Do you already own a diamond series, and you are looking to replace the 'diamond'? If so, if SD's idea doesn't work, you could always try painting the diamond with some fingernail polish, so that it doesn't shine like a flashlite. Worked for one of mine ;-)
Thanks for the replies, you guys are great. To clarify, I need to get a couple more autos, and wanted to try the diamond series b/c I have heard the switch tech is better than on the regular auto series (even the newer ones). I do like the nail polish idea, does that actually work?
Lawilli2, my XL red diamond series has a clear led, and it shines like a flashlight, so I took a pale pink nailpolish and painted it. Works like a charm ;-) Of course, as with fingernails, the polish can get scratched, but it's easy to replace. And I highly recommend the Diamond series - they are great!
