thinking about accessorizing my pb/classic with some trinkets recieved from my mother-in-law...only thing is, i can't figure out how to get the tip off to replace it. is there a way to do it without destroying my pv?

I know LK has done it. I believe she said she used jewlers pliers. But maybe she'll chime in w/ some words of wisdom.

Is exposing that circuit board a problem (as long as we don't compromise it)? My wife was big into jewelry making and has any number of CZs or other gems that could replace the ashcap on a Premium. How did you replace yours?

I believe what LK is saying is that if you remove the cz you will ruin the seal. No seal = no pv because the switch is in a sealed environment and needs to be that hay to operate.

actually no....the seal is around the PCB itself. What I am saying is you are talking about micro-circuitry. So if your going to monkey with it just be careful....and clean....dust is not your friend....nor is moisture. And removing the bezel setting that the CZ sits in is very difficult and tedious to do without damaging the battery.....not functionally so much but asthetically.

but mostly what lorikay13 is saying is that it voids the warranty. :)

Ahhh. I get it. Thanks for the input. I'd never try it on the PB or one of the other jeweled bats. I might consider it on a Premium ashcap. Just wondering if it's possible. Knowing you, you've already experimented in just about every way possible.

oh....press fit....but here is the deal.....there are two little notches in the bezel.....that is your airflow.....so you dont want to damage those.....and you dont want to tweak the bezel so it's out of round. What does lorikay13 use to get them off without damaging them.....a pair of antique miniature channel locks that I have hand cut teeth in to with an antique riffler file......the teeth are very sharp...but very shallow so they just manage to bite right under the rim of the bezel. :)
