Replacing the O rings on a Ibtanked

In my tank the wide o ring ...the first one has begun to stretch out and no longer stays in place. I went to the set that was sent with it and there is no wide o ring in there. Does anyone know where I get can one cause metal right on glass cannot be good.

Never mind I found where you can order them on their website...gave me a excuse to order another 22 MM tank ....gotta justify that shipping cost ya know!

Are you sure its not the rubber "washer" instead of an o-ring?

OCD places a rubber washer between the metal endcaps and the glass edges to act like as a shock absorber against breakage of the glass during accidents. I've had these stretch out, but never had an o-ring do this.

Yes it was the washer...I found where you can buy extras on their website. One question. I was in the habit of completely taking mine apart when I clean it and I have heard you really don't have to do this. But I wonder how can you get it really clean without taking it a part?

Most of the time I don't take apart my tanks to clean. A good rinse under the kitchen sink with perhaps a Q-Tip is more than adequate. I do a close inspection of the tank after doing this. If there appears to be any "gunk" between the glass and caps, then I'll remove the caps and do a more thorough cleaning.

I prefer to not remove the end caps if I don't have to. I have a hunch that doing so is what causes the flat rubber washers to go bad.
