I posted this on the newbie forum and didn't get much help. (Forgot I can post on other forums now.). So any responses from experienced builders would be great.

So I received my new build-able kayfun lite 2 clone and all the necessary stuff to build up my own coils and wicks. My first coil was a train wreck, but the next one went well. I used 28G kanthal with 10 twists on a 5/64 drill bit. Ohmed out at 1.73... Not bad for a newbie builder. My question is what do I get out of a higher or lower Ohmed coil? I'm a 30 year aircraft electrician, so I know ohms law, and I know that more twists equal higher resistance and more resistance equals less voltage which equals less power. But what does all of this mean to the end result of vaping. In other words, if I decrease the number of windings in my coil, I get a hotter burn, which results in what- less cloud and more throat hit? Or vice versa? I assume the former, but I'd like to know for sure from a seasoned builder. Of course I'm gonna experiment with it...just like to know what to expect.

depends on the device being used. On a mech mod the lower resistance will equal more current through the coils which will produce more heat and more vapor but less flavor. if you are using a regulated device you can build higher resistance coils and supply more voltage or watts to them to produce the desired vapor/flavor

In a kayfun on a mechanical mid shoot for 1 ohm and see how it goes, that's about as low as you want to go imo.on a kf. Lower res than that and your just losing flavor.
Are you on a mechanical mod? If not your gong to have limits to how low you want to run your res. On a mech your battery is the limiting factor; the amp limit.
