Request - news ticker

Hey all,

You may have seen a flash news ticker that we had up for a day or so this week.

The idea was to try to point members/guests towards important threads, but unfortunately it was causing slow downs on too many computers. I had to remove it.

I toyed with the idea of having it "opt in", since many users said they were quite keen on it. But I'd much rather have a solution that works for everyone.

So, does anyone know of a javascript news ticker that we could use? I've searched, but haven't found anything quite right. Ideally, rather than scrolling automatically, it would have scroll arrows at either end.

If you have any ideas, I would be most grateful.

Scrolls automatically, but has "pause" capability if you point at the ticker

Thanks for that. It's not quite right though, as it really must be static unless the user moves it.

Sorry, I have no suggestion but would like to voice my opinion on it once again.

If possible can there be an option for static or automatic operation?

I like the automatic scrolling as it catches my eye.
