I' m using a Kanger subtank mini with the RBA deck that came with the kit. Made my first build today with organic cotton and one of the 2 pre-built coils that came with the kit, they're supposed to be 0.5 ohm but when I fired up my boxmod it read 0.66. I didn't think too much of it but after vaping for a bit I noticed it now reads 0.71. And the weird thing is that when I try mounting a pre-built 0.5 OCC head it also reads 0.66 now.

What could be the issue and more importantly, is it going to blow in my face...?

I'm using a eleaf IStick TC40w. Could it be an issue with my box mod?

EDIT: Uh, the mod now reads 0 and no atomizer. What the heck is going on here?

Hi Mant1k0re. Welcome to the ECF.

A Small Variance of the Ohms is Normal. And the Ohms will read Slightly Higher when the Coils is Hot.

Reading 0 is a different Story. Check to make sure that the Screws are tight on your RBA. And that the RBA (or Coil Head) is screwed down all the way.

Also check and make sure that the 510 Connection/Threads on you Mod are Clean. And I would give them a Quick Wipe with a Q-Tip that has a little bit of Rubbing Alcohol on it.

Thanks for your answers. No spring involved, it's just screwed on. I hope I understand you correctly, English is not my first language. I did a quick re-assemble on my RTA deck and resistance is now at 6.1, and not moving. Maybe I hadn't tightened the screws tying the coil to the deck correctly...?

Oh and you are right, I had never swiped the pin before, it must have been that too. In any case, I feel a bi safer now. I was so happy with the flavor and vapor production I have overlooked the basics it seems. Back to vaping this sweet NET now :) I appreciate the help.

Your English seems Fine to Me.

The Main thing is that Your Mod, or just about Any Regulated Mod, has built in Protection. So they are Quite Safe if used Properly.

---

The Spring that Wingsfan mentioned is on the 510 Pin on your Mod. It lets the 510 Pin go Up/Down to ensure a good contact with you Atomizer.

Sometimes the Pin will get Stuck in the Down Position. Especially if some e-Liquid has Leaked into the 510 Connector. But this can be prevented by Cleaning the 510 Connector on a Regular Basis.
