Hey Guys, don't want to bash vaping or Eleaf I might just be very snsitive to something I couldn't identify yet and I was hoping you could help me to find out what it is.

I started vaping about 5 months ago with a Kanger Starter-Kit using two kinds of 18mg Liquid 1st (55PG/35VG/10VE) and 2nd (0PG/80VG/20VE). The first 3 months everything was fine and I had no side effects even though I stopped smoking point blank.

Then after 3 months I got happy to try out more things and so I bought a variation of vaporizers GS Air / Aspire Atlantis / nautilus Mini / Lemo Drop. Also I started mixing my own liquids e.g. (27PG/58VG/15VE) between 3mg - 9mg. At around the same time I started to get slight problems with my lungs like a little burning and pressure on my chest.

Since then I'm switching back and forth between my liquids and devices and sometimes it gets better and sometimes worse again. E.g. I feel very safe with my Nautilus Mini couldn't connect any symptoms with it. And I assume it has something to do with the GS Air because it got always worse after using it. But I didn't do a systematic approach. I keep switching everything like a ...... because I love all my liquids and devices so much.

I did read a little through the GS Air Fan Thread and couldn't find any similar reports so currently I'm stuck. Maybe you could help me with a systematic approach to actually find out what the problem is?

Hello and welcome to ECF! You've found a great community with a lot of knowledgeable people.

As far as your problem, I suggest process of elimination, my friend.

I had a similar issue when I first started vaping. Although it wasn't burning in my chest, it was a general cloudiness in my head and fatigue. For a while I tried changing things, jumping from juice to atty changes, trying to figure out what was causing it. I eventually had to just slow it down and only eliminate/change one thing at a time, and then wait a few days and record the results. Eventually, after eliminating or changing one thing at a time, I finally nailed it down that I was having a negative effect to PG in my juices. I find that anything over 30% PG will make me generally cloudy-headed and tired, so I vape juices that are high in VG.

You're probably just going to have to slow it down and only change one aspect of your vaping at time so you can nail down exactly what's causing it. Make a change, wait a day or two and record any changes. You'll eventually find out what's causing the problem.

Of course.....it could not be related to vaping at all. Perhaps you're coming down with something? Stranger things have happened.

Welcome to ECF, Coffee! I'm so sorry you are having difficulties. Isolating which tank, juice, nic combination is going to take a bit of time, I'm afraid. I would start by trying the highest nic level you use in the lowest ohm build that you use. Many of us find that we have to reduce nic level considerably when we drop resistance. So, if I typically vape 12 MG nic on a 1.8 ohm coil, I might drop to 3mg nic on a .5 ohm coil. Otherwise, too much nic, and lots of discomfort! If high nic/low ohm bothers you, keep working downwards in nic level until you arrive at the nic level that is comfortable for that build. Repeat for each build.

If that doesn't get you anywhere, add in another variable - PG (or VG). You may have a sensitivity to one or the other.

The key is going to be to do this methodically, and take notes :). Sort of the same theory s working out allergens. Best of luck to you!

With VE I mean just water. One of the e-liquid shops I stumbled upon called the distilled water part VE. I also have no idea what exactly it stands for and I never bought anything from that shop but since then I like to call water VE since it fits somehow.... :)

Edit: zazo(dot)de calls water VE www zazo de/info/Infos-e-Liquids.html

Hi. I'm sorry your having problems. I very very seriously don't think your issue lies with the atomizer itself but with something that is USED in the atomizer. Since you say your symptoms worsen with the use of the atomizer I'd like to ask what wicking media are you using for it? Have you tried to switch your Wicking media and see how you fare? There are several different media's that can be used. For example, cotton, natural organic cotton, unbleached cotton, Japanese cotton, rayon, silica, mesh, ekowool, hemp, cotton bacon, and ceramic to name a few. It could be a reaction to the media as well. You are going to have to expirment to actually pin point what is causing your issue. When I first started vaping my body was not used to the PG in the juice. I broke out in scalp sores. Soon I did develop a tolerance but my reaction didn't involve my lungs. That's far more serious. Many people have a PG allergy. Have you tried vaping 100% vg liquid? I would start in those two places and do some deductive reasoning. Expirment with changing the wicking media and try the 100% vg juice. Since you say it's worse when you use the atomizer, I would lean toward thinking the issue could be caused by the wicking media. Try switching things up and see how you do. Hope this is helpful. Best of luck

This is why I love this place! So much great advice and info! I've been having this problem but didn't even think to ask about it. Yet, here's an answer. Thank you!

So in the mean time I'm very certain that I have only issues with devices from Eleaf. I also tried a Lemo Drop and it didn't take 5 minutes till a slight burning in my lungs started. I haven't touched an Eleaf device for about a month now and I feel great. I can vape as much as I want e.g. on a Kanger Subtank without issues. I use the same cotton wick in the Subtank RBA Head that I had in the Lemo. So the next best thing I have in mind now that could be the cause is the insulator material that Eleaf uses. In one of pbusardo videos (youtube) he mentioned that he got strange taste from a vaporizer till he replaced the original insulators with more resistant PEEK insulators. I will try to find out what Eleaf is exactly using, hopefully they will simply tell me so I can stay away from similar stuff.
