Here is my dissertation on a restart vaping experience...
While I still consider myself a newb to all of this, I have done a lot of research.
Watched a lot of youtube videos, read a lot of posts here and elsewhere.
I am by no means an expert, but want to write this for my own knowledge.
Hopefully this will help out others as well....
Please do not hesitate to correct me or add advice.

Back in 2010 I tried with the Joye Ego
To be honest, it was ok and usable, I didn't like it that much, if given the choice though, I would use that before I use an OTC eCig.
And I didn't know what else to try and decided to drop it all for a while.
Well, I am back, and decided it's time to try this again.
Mainly, because my mother is dying from Lung Cancer.
And I have been smoking for many decades now, time to change or quit.

I went on a trip but didn't have my order yet, so I took the time to also try some of the over the counter ones
I tried Blu, nJoy, Metro and a couple of others I can't remember the names of, didn't like any of them.
They work in a pinch I guess, but would never be a primary device.
They were all very harsh, not a lot of vapor, not satisfying at all.

So,,,, now....
Wow things have changed and improved a lot.
I am now using the following...

2 - eGo-C TWIST 1000mAh MEGA manual battery (these adjust form approx. 3.2 to 4.8 Volts)
3 - Vision Mini Vivi tanks with replaceable atomizer - Long Wicks (1 x 1.8ohm and 2 x 2.4ohm)
3 - Vision Vivi Nova replacement atomizer head - 2.4 Ohm- Long Wicks
I am using the Joye Ego charger on the batteries and it seems to be working fine.

I went through the same vendor I did 2 years ago (VaporKings) and got my order within about 3 days, man that was fast.
I had good experience with them last time as well.
Needed a charger replaced cause it was hissing, and that was a fast ship also.

I am very very pleased with this setup, it is so much better than what I was using before.
One of the major problems I had with the Joye Ego was that the juice would leak into my mouth, I didn't over fill them, it
just seamed to do it all the time. Also I would get a burnt taste (dry hits) on many occasions.

These tank systems are working great though.
So, besides the Vision Vivi Nova Mini, what is a good Tank for the Ego-C Twist Battery?
I am not ready to buy one of the big variable voltage batteries yet.

(Note to all interested: watch out for fake Vivi Nova's, buy from a reputable company and not from ebay or amazon unless you really
trust the seller. Use this site ECF and others to full advantage, and go with what others are recommending for vendors/sellers,
pay attention to the regulars and who they use. I am not endorsing anyone at this time btw, only going to talk about my
experiences as ymmv with any vendor/seller.

eJuice...
What I did like back then was the RY4 18MG, so I got some of that, I also got Brandy 24MG and Triple Five 24MG, all are 100%PG
Unfortunately, This was way harsh for me, so I have cut the Brandy and Triple five to approx 40PG/60VG this was a pretty
rough approximation. But is so much better, unfortunately again, it also (understandably) diluted the flavors. But still vapeable.
I also know I have diluted the nic level, which is fine, I am thinking that in the long run, I want about a 10mg or 12mg juice as a regular vape.

I used both the eJuice Me Up Calculator and the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...e-calculator-added-quantity-calculations.html (ejuce_calculatorv13.xls) to cross check calculations.
but in the end with what I have, and using a 5ml syringe, I got pretty close to my target nic level and vape hit.
and the flavor is not too bad except the brandy is pretty weak now.

I am looking for a good DIY Brandy flavoring, any ideas?

I have been vaping for about 3 days now..
I had 5 analogs left in a pack of Marlboro 100's
I smoked one yesterday and it made me feel pretty much like crap
I keep wanting to pick up my pack of smokes, but go for the Vape instead.
I don't know what my level of usage will be yet, but so far I am not displeased in the slightest
it's a learning curve to not want an analog.

Part of that I can tell you is, I like the flavors I have.
This helps in a HUGE way with not wanting an analog, Flavor is key I think.

My Usage...
I am currently using with My Blend Triple5 the 1.8ohm at approx. 3.4v to 3.6 volts
The my blend Brandy and a slightly diluted RY4 on 2.4ohm at approx. 3.8v to 4v.
So far, I am very pleased with this setup.
However, I am finding that the brandy tastes better at around 4.2V on the 2.4ohm atty.
This is of course, due to being diluted.

I have some other things on order from other vendors that should be here this week.
I have approx 35ml's right now, it's not going as fast as I thought it might.
I wish I had a local place that I could get this stuff from.

One thing I have noticed, is there are a lot of out of stock stuff around.
I hope this won't be a trend......

Anyway,
Happy Vapes

I prefer Kanger bottom coils to ViVi Novas, frankly. But it's all subjective. Get one of each and test them yourself. Never had any leaking problems with my Kangers, top or bottom coil (T3 and T2).

Good luck and welcome back!

See Kat loves her t3. I just don't want you to think you made a bad choice...

Thanks. I did look at the Kanger T3's
but I read too many stories and a couple videos of leak problems.
But, maybe I will buy one on my next order and give it a go.
Will watch some reviews a little more though.

ur exactly right, they occasionally have a bad head and do leak, happened to me...sucked (only $2 for replacement), but when they do work it's a beautiful thing!!! besides u like the vivi's, I do too, but there are pages and pages on them cracking, pages on "tired of dry hits" etc...for $5 I say def worth a try, I think there is a very high % chance u say, wow - awesome....

Might also look at the Kanger pro-tank for something a bit larger (similar to the Evod in design).

I like the vivis for two reasons... you can get an all metal tank for them cheap, which is nice if want to vape some of the juices that are unfriendly to plastic (cinnamon, lemonade, licorice, etc.) and secondly they are easy to *rebuild* if you don't want to replace the whole head.

I have a strong suspicion that a lot of those mishaps and leaks are due to user error. Just the other day there was a long thread about bad T3s, and then the guy posted, "oh, never mind, silly me" or something to that effect. As long as you check the seals, make sure that the clearo body is screwed tightly onto the base and the base of the clearo in NOT screwed too tightly on the battery connection (pushing the post in), you're good.

Of course, there is also the infamous QC of those products...

Thanks for that post Oktyabr
I actually broke a 2.4ohm atty cause I was playing around looking at it.
When you mentioned rebuilding them I went and found a video, I had not come across any while researching.
I almost threw it away. Glad I didn't. I will be able to fix it.

I was also looking at the pro tank. I may buy one of those also and check it out.

Katya, I will look at the T3's again, I am checking videos for rebuilding those also.
And your right about user error, 9 times out of 10 it's id10t error.
Yes, i am a Professional PC tech.

Yeah, this is cool, will save some money.

I'm not disagreeing with user error but, even after rebuilds which solved the leaking,I could not get rid of the gurgles. They worked but, the gurgling drove me mad...

How much gurgling was there, Eddie? A bit of gurgling is perfectly normal. Just like Boge cartomizers' famous snap-crackle-pop. Mine gurgle too, usually when its time to refill. But they shouldn't be gurgling all the time!

Yeah, I have read more and see the design of the T3's. they could be made way better.
The Nova's are designed pretty well from what I can see. with rubber seals etc. T3's do not appear to be.
I have ordered the 510/other Ohm Meter from Madvapes, about 18ft of Kanthal 32AWG from Surevapes and then a bunch of DIY juice tools that I will need soon from One Stop DIY Shop. plus other stuff from MyFreedomSmoke and Flavor Apprentice
A few more things to get and some flavorings and I should be set for a while.

I will be looking for some other tanks possibly, but a lot are sold out. I hope I didn't miss the boat. or DIY will be an understatement.
I will be checking again in about a week, so, we will see.

thanks for all the advice and keep it coming if you got more, it is appreciated.

Last analog was Saturday evening.
