Congratulations on your 4th day without cigs, Tepid! :toast:

There is no perfect e-cig, yet. Every head, be it a clearomizer, cartomizer, tank or atty, has its pros and cons. You have to find the one that works best for you and learn how to use it. They all work, but it takes some patience and knowledge to figure out how to use them correctly. vaping is not as easy as smoking. :D

Ok, so I got convinced actually watching a few videos on the Kanger Pro Tank and the Kanger T3.
I am interested in the ProTank, but I need several tanks to play with to find a juice I need.
So, I have invested quite a bit of money and hoping I didn't really waste any anywhere. or much.

I bought 5 T3's and a 5 pack of replacements.
Why so many if you don't even know you will like them? You should have just got the Pro Tank or 2.
Well, viewing some videos, knowing that the issues I was looking at with leaking and other things I saw,
Knowing that I am going to be changing juice a lot right now (which leads me to making one of these novas a drip tester, I will need to find a different atty for that, may have to look at my old Joytech for that if I can), this should be the best way to do that.
Also, from my research, these T3 tanks need to be configured depending on the juice, they are not a one size fits all thing.
Thicker juice, less flavor wick, thinner = add some. And that appears to be the same on the Pro Tank. so,, what the heck, why not.

I have 18 feet of Kanthal 32AWG coming
I bought a roll (120 Yards) of 100% Cotton Yarn and I am boiling some of that now.
We will see if it's true that you get a better taste. I am not doing Mesh wicks right now.
I have a nice Ohm meter on the way. I am pretty much all set for rewicks and whatnot.
I also have some graduated measuring tubes, several bottles, nic juice and a few flavors.
I did buy some Watkins Cherry flavor at walmart, we'll see how that works out later.

At this point (when I finish getting all my deliveries from all over the country), provided these batteries don't die one me,
or I don't blow them up, all I need now is play with flavors.

I got some RY4 Double from TFA and fixed my muted flavors I had, way better, this is my regular vape now. Was 18, should be close to about 12mg.
and the brandy is good now too, but was and still does give me vapor tongue

I have found that I think 24mg is too much. I think my target will be around 12 to 14mg.
I will have to do some testing.

I modified a Nova Mini with a small piece of cotton over the coils, I do get flavor pops in my mouth from time to time. This idea I got from the Flavor wicks on the T3. yep, it works. will have to watch that it stays wet.

Anyway, wife's gonna kill me when the bill gets here, but it should pay for itself pretty quick.

WOW!

Congratulations, I guess! :D And good luck!

Just a word of caution--before you start modifying your tanks, clearos or what have you, spend some time learning how they work first. I've been using all the heads you listed for quite some time and never had any problems with leaking or otherwise. Remember, vaping is not like smoking--it takes some time to learn how your hardware works. Once you've mastered that, you can proceed to modding. :)

So, continuing the saga,,,

Tomorrow will be one week since my last analog.
I do at times feel kinda strange, but it's all withdraw.
However, things do taste better now than they did 2 days ago.
Smell is getting better.
eJuice is not like it was, with the mouth sensation and tastes better.

I bought a 6ml of some RY4 24mg VG, way too harsh and too much Nic (I think that is where the harsh is coming from.
So I cut it down with 3ml PG, 2ml VG, 1ml RY4 Double and one single drop of Bavarian Creme
Holy smokes is that good. That one drop just gives it that sweet kick. and should be right around 13mg or so. Still a little harsh, but vapable.
And feeling a lot better.

I have not made any juice yet as I want to test the Nic Juice (sitting in the freezer waiting for the test kit) before I use it.

I am feeling a bit sad now though as my buying of all this stuff was fun, but I am done for a while.
The total is roughly (not including shipping and possible taxes) about $320 or so.

I know this may be a bit sloppy, but here is the complete item list of all the things I have bought in the last week.
I am excluding Vendors Names cause this is not about endorsing any vendors.
This includes the total of 9 Vendors, which I have so far received everything in perfect condition from all of them. And in a timely manner.
Some of you and others who are savvy will probably be able to figure out who some of the items come from.

Anyway, I did over buy on a couple of things, namely the Kanger T3's, not sure why I did buy that many
But I figure I can give them away to someone I am trying to convert if I need to.
I also made a couple of mistakes on some of the items, but that's ok. I learned, and they aren't huge mistakes.
Namely, getting the Nic Juice in 100% PG.
This makes it an issue due to the fact that, I have found my target mix is approx 20PG/80VG at about 12mg.

Using The eJuiceMeUp Calc and learning by just playing with numbers gets thrown off with 100% PG or VG
So I will have to remix to a new base, which is fine. I will need to take that over to the diy area and confirm my calculations.
I am also playing with nic free juice and flavorings.

Another mistake I mad was not waiting and doing more searching on the Kanthal wire,
I found it dirt cheap (50ft) which is why it is listed twice below.

I also did not need the 18 gauge needle, meant to get larger and longer blunt tips.

I should be set (besides batteries, juice and possible tanks) for the better part of a year.
Note: Yes, i do know what I am doing when it comes to the DIY stuff.

For any new people reading this......
********A note on DIY eJuice. I have a lot to learn still. Do not take this stuff lightly.
Read Every Single Sticky here DIY E-Liquid
Read all of them, and all of each, do not skip this. You may regret it later.
Not all flavorings are suited for vaping, know your ingredients and know your source.
If you aren't sure, even from a vendor, look up the ingredients and don't buy it if you aren't sure.
There is a list on this forum somewhere i that I can't find now that lists some ingredients you should be wary of.
Hopefully, a some one can find and post that link here.
Head all warnings. If you are not comfortable with Math, percentages and ratios,
then even the calcs will not help you, stick with buying premixed juices.
None of this can be stressed enough.
The following 2 links are probably the most important of all of them...

Got my Kanger T3's the other day.
Did some testing with the Cart/Atty Ohm Meter, the numbers were all over the place.
So, I went and bought an Etek 10709 at WallyMar's (you know, the alien hang out)
and tested them all with that as well just to verify that the other isn't broken.
It's not, I just had to learn how to use it.

If as a newbie you decide to get one of the Cart/Atty Ohm Meter
(i do recommend them if you decide to rbuild atty's), do the following...
screw the atty/cart on about half way and turn it on, then only turn it till it makes contact
and you get a reading. Same with any ohm meter. just touch it, don't try to press down on it or
you will get false readings. It takes some practice to get good accurate readings because
too much movement or touching the prongs in the wrong way can cause it to not read right.
Or tightening down too much on will give false readings.
I thought I had a 2.5ohm that was reading 5 to 6ohm. it was really about 3.2ohm.

Some atty's are way higher than rated, some are pretty spot on
This is both the Nova's and the T3's. (couple T3's that are around 3.4ohm)
I have a 1.8ohm for the nova that is really high. I need to retest it again later but I have done it about 10 times now.
Looking at the wrap, it is pretty bad. I will have to redo it.
I haven't played with Ohm's Law in many years, or a meter.
So I recommend people visually inspect and test their atty's with an Ohm Meter so you know what they are.
They may not function on non-variable batteries very well if they are an ohm+ higher/lower. That might be why.

Moving on,
The Kanger T3's,
They all hit pretty light, and not high on flavor.
Vaping the un-altered Triple5 24mg PG base and it is not horrible on the T3 (at about 3.8v to 4.6v).
I do like how you can take the atty out easily without emptying it.
I had gurguling by priming it too hard when filling the Triple5.
Took out the atty blew it out from the bottom. issue resolved, no mess.

After filling, I let sit about 10 or 15 min straight up and down before using.
this gives the wicks time to saturate properly and fully. I tried to force it, but it just didn't work too well.
So far, no leaks.

But I think I like the Nova's better, I did buy too many T3's. Not really sure why. Learn and live.
Probably should have got one mini? I won't though.

I rewicked one using this meathod with cheese cloth.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...w-i-re-wick-my-t3s-cheesecloth-pictues-8.html
it is not really that much better.
I also recoiled one to 2.5ohm using cotton yarn and a screw. Same results, not great.

Second, do not crank them down tight on a battery, or the Cart/Atty Meter.
Just till it makes contact, then a slight bit more for some tension, then stop on the battery.
You could damage the gromet.

Speaking of gromets, anyone know where to get those, just the gromets? For T3's, Nova's and others?
Or some kind of relacement?

I have a 24mg Energy Cow that was way harsh on the Nova. it's ok on the T3, but still not great.
I have others that are pretty week in the T3. But I had muted them, so I am waiting for a new order, below.
I will be able to add some flavor to the Tobacco on this one as needed.
A place to start anyway, till I start my own DIY Juice.
I bought the A7 as a test piece for juice I make. but might be what I use at home.

I did not just try them and throw them aside. I have been using 3 of the T3's exclusivly for over 24 hours.
I am just not impressed when I now go back to the Mini Nova's.
I also used a toothpick to plug one breather hole. only really changed the draw.
If you have the Nova's dialed in with the right volts on good juice, they are really good.

Phoenix/A7 Rebuildable Atomizer
(Color: Black)
PHX 1 $14.99 USD $14.99 USD
Tobacco Blend e-juice
(Bottle Size: 30mL, PG/VG Ratio: 20/80, Nic Strength: 18mg)
TOBD2HS467 1 $12.99 USD $12.99 USD

So, this is day 9, felt like crap all day the other day, doing ok today

So, why did I go hog wild and buy so much at once?
several reasons...

The main one?, I wanted to spend the money so that I would not give up on it and go back to cig's.
Don't want to say I wasted my money on this. When things work right, it's pretty darn good.

So, I am enjoying my vape so far.

Maybe more to come later.

Note: BTW, none of my T3's are leaking yet.

Ok, so I revisited the Kanger T3's, I don't like them at all,,, not for me..., not sure I could like any bottom feeder.
Which makes me weary of the ProTank.
And I am not sure I want to go with a cartoTank

I have a Vamo on it's way, and may get a Provari here soon.

I need a good tank to go with these and am leaning towards a Drunker or something like it.
I was looking at the Z-Atty, but wow are they expensive. not sure I can justify that cost.

And other suggestions I might be missing?
