Greetings,

My Wismec Roo-loo is on its way and now I am trying to sort out which batteries I should use

I got 2 choices, but due to the fact that this mod can fire up to 200watt I am unsure which set of batts I should use.

VTC5
Samsung 30Q

I would have chosen the LG HG2 but unfortunately where I live, these batteries are pricy, mostly sold out and there are currently discounts on both the ones I need to choose from.

Additionally a question about the charging, which is that I am aware that the batteries should be used on pairs. I'll label them and use them simultaneously , charge them all together as well. However, it came to my attention that the charger that I have, a nitecore i4, is using slots such as 1 - 3, and 2 - 4, for pair charging.
What is the deal when there is a need to charge 3 batteries in pairs?

Thanks for the help in advance !!

The idea with marrying batteries is that you use them and charge them in pairs so that they age at the same rate. That Nitecore is supposed to be a good charger. The different slots charge at different amp settings so that certain slots can charge your batteries faster. Not sure exactly how it works, but I'm sure it's in the instruction manual.

You need to know the mods cutoff voltage for the batteries.

Lets say it's 3.2V per cell.

With three batteries in series thats 9.6V.

Lets say you plan on using it at 200W. (Preheat)

200W / 9.6V = 20.83A

So VTC4

Dont plan on going over 150W.

150W / 9.6V = 15.6A

I'd use LG HG2

Dont plan on going over 100W.

100W / 9.6 = 10.4A

Samsung 30Q would work ( but I'd still use LG HG2 :D )

The internal charger in the DNA200 board will keep you safest. Its a high tech uber modern chipset that is amazing it monitors everything and will guarantee no issues will befall your batts pretty much. 99% of issues happen on chargers with liions.. IMO use the on baord charging every charge, rarely remove the cells. DC is finicky it likes to remain in the same spot on the contacts as best option and procedure always..

Also IMO you cannot go wrong with LG HE2 batts 3000 mah is ~3000-3150mah actual and they go down to 2.5v you can vape them a very long time charging at DNA200 shutoff ~3v per cell where as the sony's need to charge at 3.4-5ish per cell and are only ~1800-2000mah.. The He2's will handle 200 watts fine as we pulse them and @ 200 watts on Kanthal your not gonna vape over 5secs lol... In TC mode you'll never hit 200 watts anyway..

NIIIce mod purchase..

Thanks for all of your replies

I4 nitecore handles 4 slots. I've came to know that charging 2 batts in slot 1 and 3 , or 2 and 4 helps with the charging rate, as well as the idea of charging paired batteries used in dual 18650 - devices. Previously I have been using a Yihi m class, so there was no need for doing the pairing thing

Now I got myself a Wismec and am only wondering how this is being done when charging 3 batteries simultaneously, in this i4
Perhaps it doesn't matter much.

As for the batteries I want to use in the reuleaux, you guys recommend the lg hg2, and if not ( due to out of stock) the vtc4 for the use of up to 200w on my quadcoil builds ?

Ordered some fresh ones just now, greatly appreciate all advice on this !

Comes to mind that there will be also occasions in which I use single coil builds in tanks, not in need of such power but let's say 50w. I'm guessing there aren't any issues when I go low in power
No issue.

50W is low power!? o_O

You may want to learn how to build more effective/efficient coils.

:D

I like my coils to be thick n twisted..

But you are right though, there are occasions I can enjoy my old iStick 30...

Give this one a go (beginner level ;) ) tripple parallel 30 gauge 12/11 wrap 2.5mm ID. Comes out to 0.5 ohms. At 40W it's a beast.

On a velocity, which I use for my quadcoils,..
Triple parallel you say. So 3 wires twisted ? The coil looks like a caterpillar from hell :D

Twisting wastes surface area and moves mass away from the wick. They are laid next to each other. Only the legs are twisted which keeps the parallel wraps aligned.
