Hi, I'm using the Reuleaux rx200 with tobeco velocity v1 clone. Dual coils, ss316 ud wire, 26 gauge, 9 spaced wraps, at .3ohm. I'm using preset ss option and have also used tcr set to 90. My issue Is that every time I use it, the previous temp I used is inadequate. With watts set to 75, one day I need temp in the 300s while somedays 600f won't be warm enough. I always use the rda in room temp. Should the Reuleaux also be room temp? Should rda be pre dripped before inserting it? Also when I redrip, the next puff is always way hotter. When inserting new atty, the lock resistance is already on from previously locking, is that ok? Haven't tried any other tc wires and intent to stick with ss. Thanks

I've seen many tcr ratings from different sources and 85 to 92 seems to be the number for ss316L. Haven't tried higher ohms yet but would prefer lower ohms.

The sweet spot for SS seems to be 0.4-0.5Ω and higher. Lower resistances will work but the granularity of control will be much less. With lower resistances, this means that we may be able to dial in 350F but the next settable temp might be 420F. The wire's change in resistance just isn't enough for the current chipsets to measure.

The other issue we have is variation in the alloy recipe and whether the manufacturer is staying within spec. Your 0.3Ω build should be fine. Many have reported that a TCR of 100-110 has been much more to their liking with SS 316L.

Good luck!

I've had no problem with Ni200 with builds as low as .15ohms. The problem with SS316 is that the mod is really calibrated for SS304. In theory you can adjust the TCR to compensate, but in practice it doesn't always work well.

The 3.0 firmware update says it's calibrated for SS316L... just tried a TCR of 100 and vape was cool at 600f/90watts. It'll try Ni200 next.
