This is a quick review of the Vapor King being sold by Vapor4life. I want to start out by saying that my experience in vaping is pretty limited. About 2 weeks ago I ordered my first PV, it was a Pilot from Puresmoker. I read a lot of reviews and settled on that model. I'm very happy with the product overall, and I probably would have kept right on using it as my workhorse, but I found the King Vapor and the Pilot has lost a lot of its luster.

I started reading SMILIN's (proprietor of Vapor4life) posts about a week ago. I noticed he was near Chicago and only about a 45 minute drive from me. I messaged him back and forth and we got together on Saturday. I'm going to be doing another post describing that experience, but it was a blast. So I've had the Vapor King since Saturday and so far I'm loving it. For those who don't know, it is a 2 piece unit; battery with disposable cartridge/atomizer. I know there are several different products (such as the Bloog, smoke51, red dragon, epuffer EAZE Magnum) like this on the market already, and to be honest I have not used any of those.

The first thing I noticed when I puffed this thing was the throat hit. It was intense and very satisfying. It felt so close to the hit I used to get when smoking analogs. The vapor production on this thing is outstanding as well. I would say that for the worst puffs it equals the pilot, but for a good puff it blows it away. The cartridge I was using was the Marlboro like and the flavor on it was very good. Much better than the pre-filled carts that came with my Pilot. I have also tried his Cola and Menthol and both of those are also very good.Cash True Menthol is still my favorite, but the Vapor King's flavors were very good. The carts also last quite a long time. I'm not a super heavy vapor, but I have been puffing away steadily on this thing since Saturday, and I just put in my 3rd cart (I used to be a pack a day smoker). SMILIN is selling the carts at 5 for $10 right now, so for me that would work out to $2 a day. That's probably more than I'd spend on dripping and topping off my Pilot, but I think it is more fair to compare this to actual smoking because the experience is way closer to actual smoking. And I was spending $5 a day smoking, so I'm still making out ahead here.

The battery on this thing is great too. I have been consistently getting 4-5 hours out of the battery so far, comparable to what I was getting with the Pilot. Also the switch on the battery seems to work very consistently. I don't have to strain or suck hard, just a nice, easy drag.

There are only 2 negatives I've found so far about the product. One is that it does not seem like you can easily top off the cartridges. I haven't taken one apart yet, but it doesn't seem like it will be easy or effective. Also I've heard that the cartridges are not compatible with the other disposables. SMILIN told me that he is working on getting carts for this that are easier to top off, but right now I'm just enjoying the fresh carts so much I don't even know if I would do that. The other negative is that right now the kit only comes with a USB charger. There is no wall plug in the box with the kits he has now. This is not a problem for me because I have a USB/AC adapter so I can charge it on a standard outlet.

This is my first review so I don't have any kind of number system worked out (I know leaford has gotten one of these too, he mentioned it in the Vapor4life forum. Maybe he'll be doing a review of this as well.) I just wanted to give my initial impressions of the product. Overall I love it. I don't have to mess with constantly dripping and topping off, so the convenience factor is very high. I showed this to my dad who is not anywhere near tech savvy and would never drip or top off and he loved it. I know he'll use it because all he has to do is use the cart and toss it (and charge the battery). I don't think SMILIN has his website up yet, but check out Vapor4life's subforum on here and I think you can order there. I've seen people in there pm'ing him and he sets up the paypal (I don't know, I went and picked mine up. Instant gratification baby) I know a few other people have ordered them from reading the posts, so hopefully they can chime in when they get theirs. I would highly recommend the Vapor King to anyone who is looking for the next best thing to the analog experience. I know I'll still use my Pilot occasionally because I love the Cash True Menthol. But the Vapor King is my new workhorse.

I'm sorry if this review was a little rambling, like I said it's my first review. If I forgot anything, or if anyone has questions let me know.

Edit: dc32 pointed out that I did not post the link to SMILIN's forum Here it is:

Edit: I just realized I've been calling it the King Vapor and it's called the Vapor King. Is there any way to edit that in the thread title?

Update: I got bored today (waiting for clients to get material to me kills me) and I started playing around with the cartridge on this. Leaford told me that you can pull off the plastic cap on the puffing end and refill the carts. The cap gets a little bent in the process, but IT WORKS!. You have to be careful not to drip directly into the center (mouth full of liquid, yuck). But now I can top this cart off with any liquid I want. I probably wouldn't top off more than 3 times, but for a 2 dollar cart thats not too bad. I'm officially in love with this thing.

Thanks for the review dohsma, this sounds like it may be a really nice device. I'm kinda bummed it is not compatible with the other disposable styles, but I'm glad you say these things are refillable. Vapor4Life seems to have some great products and every post I've read has good things to say about SMILIN's customer service.

Thanks again for the review and be sure to let us know how things are going after a few more weeks of use.

I will definitely follow up and make sure it stands the test of time. I couldn't say more about his customer service. He met me in person and invited me into his home. He told me he is trying to get carts that are easier to refill, but the current model isn't too bad after you figure it out. I'm going to be ordering more carts and I'll try to give impressions of all the flavors.
