Hi everyone!

I'm at that dangerous stage in any hobby where I want everything. In some hobbies it's called RAS or NAS (Recent or New Acquisition Syndrome). I was wondering if there were any comprehensive, user-driven sites full of reviews for hardware and liquid out there? Kind of like Yelp, but only for vape stuff. A Vapebook, if you will.

Any help here?

Thanks in advance,

K

your already there ke7in11, ecf is one of the biggest databases you can find. also since you are in cali there are tons of vapeshops which will let you actually try various device setups before you buy. Thats a lot easy to do then read reviews all day that may steer you wrong. hell just im my sig below I have about 1/10th of my gear listed and most will find something wrong or love those items. vaping is very personal so try things out and get what you like. you can look here to see places near you and it will tell you if they are online or a brick and mortar location. Electric Cigarette | Eliquid | Supplies | Electronic Cigarette | Ejuice | Vapor Search USA

Thanks. I really am learning that this might be the most personal hobby one could jump into. I mean, from the juices, to the delivery devices, to the battery mods... everyone has their own tastes. And even the reasons for being here are different. Some are trying to stop nicotine altogether, some just want to keep going without the carcinogens. It really is all very personal. God help us when regulations eliminate the nuance from the game. Then it'll be Marlboros, Camels, Newports, or Bensen & Hedges all over again.

Hi

You have to learn to be a savvy shopper about all this. There are dedicated web sites out there for reviews. Some of them give the impression "I'll say anything positive if I think it means suppliers will keep sending me free stuff to review!" :glare: Just keep it in mind when you see those sites or YouTube reviews.

On ECF... sigh, stuff lands all over the place. In a way that's good - if someone has something to say either good or bad about a device, a liquid etc. - they do. But it can make it hard to find information on a site as large as this as well. One specific area of ECF to be aware of is: E-Cigarette Product Reviews

In theory, all reviews should land here. In practice, some times you can find more info about a specific product in the General forum.

Also in that part of ECF are reviews of Suppliers - both positive and negative. Something else to check out when shopping at new web sites.

As already pointed out in this thread, ECF has all of the information you need about products and vendors. The trouble is finding it, especially for a newbie. The Fasttech thread is up to some 14,000 posts.

No matter how good a vendor or product is, there will be positives and negatives to be found. Some will have their groupies who will defend something to death. Others have their professional ringers who will throw in false reviews and who are staunch defenders of garbage service and product.

There are reviewers out there like PBussardo who will give outstanding (funny too), impartial reviews and technical detail. Others like Nick on GrimmGreen are a little more subjective, but a it is a place to start. YouTube has too many reviewers who try hard but are terrible.

This industry has grown from a cottage industry into a multi-$billion business with a mind boggling development in new products and vendor growth.

Then there is the price point which is all over the place, sometimes by a 100% or more. Pennyvape is a good comparison shopping site and ........ finds good daily deals. Some vendors rebrand products with their own name and charge a hefty mark up. Others, like VaporKings don't.

When I started vaping some three years ago, I googled ecig reviews and got burned badly by overpaying for underperforming products. There are a ton of bogus review sites out there which are sponsored by some very unscrupulous people. It does not take much to put up a web site these days. After reading 3 or 4 positive reviews, it's easy to fall into the trap they set.

You may be able to find local B&M's nearby to check on products and flavors to get a feeling for what you want. Here, product choice and juices may be all over the place, not to mention pricing! Then do your comparison shopping.

Undoubtedly, some will pounce on me for making a suggestion to the detriment of the small entrepreneur. My attitude is that nobody told this person to jump into what has become a brutally competitive market. Would you eat at a restaurant and pay exaggerated prices for poor food and service?

There is no easy way. Do your research, take your time, and be patient. Also, be prepared to make the wrong choice once in a while. The goal is to stay away from burning tobacco, and there are many roads you can take to get to that goal.

LOL interesting, i go to the same 3.

for juices check around in our ejuice subforum always much discussion about various juices.

LOL they are good sites. I like Todds Reviews for the more advanced stuff. Only wish some of these reviewers would revisit these PVs 6 months later....but then again shortly after the initial review they prolly just end up sitting in their drawer collecting dust

Not exactly what you're looking for but some sales sites:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pay-forward-pif/418767-deals-steals-75.html
Vapor Joes - Daily Vaping Deals
VaporJoes- be leery of ordering batts or juice from China as China/ Singapore Post are refusing to accept/ deliver.
My one word of advice...no matter how much hype about a Version 1 anything vape related stay away as they usually are overpriced and have issues- thus version 2, 3, etc.
Best of Luck.

I have seen a number of devices revisited by all three of the top reviewers mentioned and while I cannot speak on behalf of PB and GG, as a member of Todd's own forum, I can tell you that contrary to some folks thoughts, Todd actually pays for quite a percentage of devices reviewed whilst giving away a very high percentage of the 'freebies' he receives to review.

Yeah I know most of the gear he reviews is paid for by himself...prolly my favorite reviewer cuz of his sense of humor and just seems like a down to earth sort of guy. Problem (IMO) is that an APV/ PV is used for maybe a few weeks and given a strong ...many will buy that particular APV and find it has issues over the long term. That's prolly why I wait and see if an APV is "vape worthy".

I agree that would be extremely useful, but that's kinda what we're here for. I've never been a product reviewer, but it seems to me that they guys I watch just have piles and piles of gear to go through, test, and then review. I'm not making excuses for them, but I try to keep in mind that my favorites also have real jobs and real lives, so I'm grateful for the handful of videos they put on YouTube every week.

Yeah but the problem is here at ECF "their" APV/ PV" or "clearomizer" is the "greatest". When I was researching my first PV I never posted here cuz I knew I'd get a million answers/ suggestions that would just muddy the waters LOL  Upside is I ended up with the perfect PV (at that time)...the downside is I spent a solid 300+ hrs researching.
Best member here at ECF IMHO for giving advice about different APVs/ PVs is Magic Bill cuz he seems to have owned almost every PV imaginable (30) and has been very upfront and honest in his appraisals.
Overall I agree with you. we all have lives and jobs but if each of us can give a tiny bit back it makes a world of difference.

I have no idea how I'm going to read everything, now.

THANKS so much, folks!

Although I agree with everyone that ecf is the most comprehensive source of info, the info is just not organized very easily. Some of the other sites are organized very well, but are not as comprehensive.

But, for now, these other sites and youtube channels will keep me busy enough.

Thanks once again!

I just wanted to say that with all the information available here on ECF, because the search function is somewhat... limited, if there's something specific you're looking for, you'll often get better results going to Google and doing a site search from there.
