Request for Enhancement -- Forum Supplier Map
Increasingly as the ECF forums grow and the industry as a whole grows the issue of local suppliers will become of more importance. I'd like to propose a Map be maintained as an official/semi-official extension to ECF. I'm also offering my time in maintaining such a Map on Google Maps services. Based on the 'Supplier List' sticky I am proposing:
- A main map that includes up to the 80 Forum Suppliers
- Their geographic location marked either specifically (storefront) or generically (ZIP for web only)
- The relevant link to their ECF Forum and their website.
- A secondary map that includes any Registered Supplier w/ the same basic information
The main map being where the majority of consistency effort will be done. And the secondary as best can be managed (due to complexities mentioned in the sticky referenced above).
I also started just building this myself but I thought it would be nice to offer to do it on behalf of ECF first within those guidelines. That way a workflow of receiving and removing approved suppliers can be matched/integrated with existing ECF norms.
Submitted for your consideration. Respectfully and appreciatively yours, -Magnus
