ribbon or regular kanthal?

What is the difference and which is better? new to mech mods and i dont have an rba/rda setup......yet. but i plan on it and to tun it around 1-1.2 ohm. seems like a good wattage range for me. any advice.

I think to start, regular, round kanthal a-1 is a good choice. It is easy to work with. I've heard that ribbon can be a real pain the the rear. Good luck and have fun!

IMO it depends on what kind of tops you have. For a few of my Gennies I use flat wire, and for my immortalizer as well. I've tried flat wire in pretty much all of my RBA's, and it seems to be hit or miss. I say pick some up, experiment with it! You never know until you try

i would just go with regular round kanthal to start with. it works great and it will always be handy to have some around, especially if you know anyone who has started vaping and will be looking to move up.

the flat ribbon wire has more surface area so you have more area of heat applied to your wick. it can be a pain to work with and wrap all the way on there so IMO that kind of setup is better used with something like an ekowool sleeve over your wick. if what i just said confused you, get the regular round kanthal and while youre enjoying your rebuildable do a little more research on it. most of all, enjoy yourself!

Sounds reasonable to me. Anything that makes it easier to do, especially for a beginner like me, I am down with. Now to figure out the atomizer i want, kinda have my heart set on a IGO-W mainly because it will look nice on my mod (smoktech Natural), tossing between the AGA-T2 and the RSST. I do some forum search on that. Thanks for the Advice!!

4 turns with round Kanthal A-1 32awg should give you around 1 1/2 ohms....I prefer round over flat
