I'm a fence rider, or am I in a nicotine pergatory? anyway..........I'm a half ecig/ half puff plant material smoker. (can't quite get myself to vape 100%) When I vape I tend to vape and vape like it's a pacifier but when I light the first cig, after having vaped a while, I swear I could smoke a pack one after an other! What the what is that all about? Is it because when I vape i vape awhile ? Or, is it because I'm having a mental thing?

Oh stuff and bother.........

I've noticed a similar thing when I tried the patch (numerous times)

I couldn't wait to get that patch off and have a regular cig, and then I couldn't get enough. I do know that each of my attempts at using the patch resulted in my smoking even more cigarettes. A very noticeable increase like almost a half pack per day. I thought that my patches were to strong which in turn increased my level of addiction. All I know for sure is that once I started smoking more it was difficult to cut back.

I haven't tried cigarettes now that i'm vaping so nothing to directly compare you experience with. I'm wondering if you might need a nic level adjustment with your juice?

It could be a number of things.

1 - as long as you keep smoking cigs then you are still addicted to the other chemicals in cigs which include an anti-depressant effect, cyanide, formaldehyde, carpet glue and 4000 other chemicals and breathing carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide

2 - you may need a better ecig - one that will get you get hot drags (battery 450mah+ that can use LR atomizers and LR cartomizers). or if you have super-wimpy eicg just moving up to a stronger slim one might help (KR808D-1 like SMokelessImage and V4L is the strongest slim ecig)

3 - you may need to keep trying eliquids until you find once that make you go ahhh

4 - you may need higher nicotine

5 - If you are using auto batteries, try manuals. I think manuals are MORE like cigarettes because you can press early and then there is vapor already made when you start dragging - you don't have to work for it.

Also pay attention to how different flavors make you feel. Some new vapers need tobacco flavors because food flavors give them an analog craving as if they had just eaten. Some new vapers do best staying away from tobacco flavors and only vaping food flavors. And some can be satisfied by any flavor right away. Figure out which you are and stay away from vaping any non-satisfying flavors alone until you can handle it. I found I could not vape food flavors alone the first 2 months but I could mix sizable amounts into a tobacco cart/carto and and that was OK.

If you are serious about quitting, first get your equipment and juice in order so you have a setup that satisfies you. Then stop carrying cigarettes and lighter. First I carried mine in the wrong pocket as a safety blanket. Then I moved the cigs and lighter to a zip lock bag in the trunk of the car in case I ever had a hardware problem. I also removed evening/morning stress by having an extra battery that comes off the charger late night when everything else goes on to charge and that spare is my overnight battery. No decisions at bedtime, no assembly in the morning. I also switched to cartomizers so I can just pick it up in the morning and it just works. And I found I prefer to vase 2 contrasting flavors (one sweet and one not that has a bit of tobacco - they refresh my taste for each other and one or the other will satisfy me).

If it's a social thing then you have other issues to work out.

What nicotine strength are you using?
How much of what kind of cigarettes did you smoke?

I'm using a lot of 18 but I do have some 24 mg. i smoke roll yer owns most of the time. the hard part for me has been I manage a tobacco store. thankfully we started carrying e-cigs and juice so whatever I need i get at cost.

I started off on a 650mah old style ego clone with 36mg nic juice. I'm sure I upped my nic intake with that, and I'm probably lucky I didn't OD lol. I was a pack and a half a day smoker, and I used to POUND analogs during my smoke breaks at work. Over the course of a few days I went from a pack and a half a day, to 1/2 a pack, to 4 cigs a day for about a week. After that I got some 24mg juice, continued smoking about 4 analogues a day and it just got to the point that the regular cigs just tasted like crap. I'm almost 3 weeks in (after a setback a few months ago) and I'm already trying to cut down to 18mg juice.

The amazing thing is, I wasn't really trying to quit cigs, it just kind of HAPPENED!

Personally, I needed high nic (24mg) and something around 5v for me to be satisfied. I'm a girl and not a huge person and used to smoke light 100's (1) PPD. Don't know why I need to "vape like a man" but it's keeping me off of the analogs.

Try some different voltages and juice till you find a sweet spot. It'll help and you won't wanna go back.

Good Luck!!

Because i can smoke at work, i can smoke up to a pack plus but i try to keep it down to 10-12. I was smoking 2 plus. Freaking crazy!!
Well, if you were smoking that many rollies, you might need the 24mg strength.
But the 18mg strength might also be a reasonable choice.

You might want to try the 24mg for awhile and see if that helps any.

Hey dude I'm sure being the manager of a smoke shop just makes it that much harder to quite you're surrounded by smokes and accessories all day. So good luck with your attempts at quiting your path is going to be harder than most.
I'm sure you have tried this but heres a suggestion try chewing sugarless gum for as long as you can then when you feel a bad craving reach for the 24 mg vapes enjoy till satisfy then repeat. Just may help break up the periods of smokin.

Sounds to me like you need a higher nic level in your juice. I was vaping for awhile before I could completely quit smoking, and that was the key. I would be fine most of the time, but I would get cravings (usually after eating) and need a cig. Then I got some juice with a higher nic level, and an atomizer/drip tip. When I would get the cravings, I would use the higher nic juice. As soon as I started doing that, I quit smoking, right in the middle of a pack.

Everyones nic level is different. I started with 24mg, and used 30mg to curb the cravings, while still using 24 as my "all day" juice. Now I don't need the 30mg anymore and the 24 does fine. Before long, I hope to try and move down to 18.
