Hey everybody. Ive been a member for awhile, but haven't posted yet, just been creeping the forums.

I've been a smoker for 13 years, and after watching and taking care of my grandmother when she was dying of lung cancer when I was nineteen, I decided I needed to quit. I promised her I'd quit before I was 30, I'm now 26. I procrastinated, told myself I was working myself up to it, I'd do it when I was ready, etc, but never really tried to quit. It's been six years now since she died, and with the help of my vape, I think I can do it. I've slowly been making the switch from stinky cigs to vape only. I cut my tobacco consumption in half right off the batt, from 20 a day to 10, then to 5 a few weeks later. Then after every cig I'd have, I'd stay outside and puff on my ecig for a few minutes. Teaching my brain to associate the smell of cigs with using my vape. Been doing that for three months now. Finally trying no cigs at all. So far I'm three days in. No real physical cravings, just mental. Have had a headache since my first day cig free, but I'm sure it'll pass.

I'm optimistic. So far so good. We'll see how it goes. ☺️

Here's my current set up

HI Nikomas and welcome to the forum. (I have the same mod and tank and love them) You can do it. When I was "weaning" from the stinkys I kept a higher nic juice in a cheap tank that I would hit once whenever the itch was difficult. In my experience the dropping down of nic was usually a few days to a week of this technique. Then I was adjusted.

Headaches can be a sign of too much nicotine in your vape, plus it can be totally unrelated. CHeck here for any health aspects you may be curious about.

Thanks for the replies and support guys. ☺️

I love my set up, making my own coils, battery lasts for three days before it needs a charge, and finally found a brand of juice I like, Moshi. It's been hard to talk myself into trying to quit since there's two other smokers in the house, but my boyfriend quit using a vape five months ago, and now he's living with me, so I think it's time to do it.

I'm using 6mg nicotine, and have a 12 around just in case. Tried higher mic levels before I settled on 6, all they seemed to do was hurt my throat and make me cough. Might still be too high though. I figure my head probably hurts from the lack of cig chemicals. No biggie though. I figure it could be a lot worse too. Lol

Hi Nikomas and Welcome,

I too watched my Father pass from cigarette's and swore I'd finally quit after many failed attempts. I was a 2 pack a day smoker for over 40 + years. It's now been 21 months since I had my last cigarette. I started with 36mg nic and I'm now vaping 3mg. I hope that by my 3rd anniversary that I will be vaping 0mg, but if not I'm not concerned because I feel great thanks to vaping.

The best advice I could give you is be persistent! I found that if I felt the urge for a cig, I vaped. It's not a bad thing if you have a cig once in awhile but the more you vape the more you won't want to smoke. I have to say that now I hate the smell of cigarette's. Honestly I hate it!! I never imagined that I would feel this way.

I wish you the best of Luck in your quest to kick the habit. Stay strong and Vape hard!! :D

Hi Nikomas

Welcome to the forums. We're all rooting for you quitting the stinky's, you can do it! I was a 1-2 PAD for 40+ years. There's an amazing number of posts from people who are using vaping to quit cancer sticks. Going clearly against the giant packs of lies you're reading in the general media funded by big Pharma, big tobacco and anti-smoking crazies that it doesn't help. Good luck and welcome.

If you're actually getting headaches, could be an indication that the Nic is still a little high Try 3mg for a day and see if the headaches go away. Good luck rooting for you to stay off the stinky cancer sticks

Thanks for the kind words everyone :)

From reading the link that sir2fyablynutz posted, the headache is either still to high nic, the stupid chems from the cancer sticks, or water consumption. I'm thinking it's probably the water as I've been vaping this 6mg for at least three months now with no issues. I've never been a person to drink much of anything, I'm gonna down some water bottles and see what happens ☺️
