hey, got a riva 1100 yesterday and everytime I use it it makes a sound, I cant describe it, sometimes its gurgly but sometimes its just like a gurgling sound but not wet sounding, like its the sound of the liquid evaporating. I was just wondering if its normal for it to make a sound atall or if I'm doing something wrong when filling it, as my e-lite before made no such sound. I'm using atomisers with cartridges. Also a second questions- one of the atomisers supplied has a much lower resistance when you inhale than the other. Theres no mention of a difference between them anywhere and as I've never used atomisers before I dont know which is the more normal. Is is likely theyre just of different resistances or could it be that one is faulty? I've been pondering these questions for a while and tried different things to get rid of the sound like blowing through the atomisers, then I thought I'll consult the wisdom of the forum. thanks in advance!

A gurgling sound usually indicates a flooded atomizer. Some, but not all, atomizers make a hissing sound when activated, and it's nothing to worry about.
Also, some atomizers have a harder draw than others. Usually within the same brand they are pretty close, but occasionally you'll get one that's either a hard draw or really light. Atomizers and cartomizers of different brands can vary widely. Some people like a light draw, others a tighter draw. Find a brand you like and stock up, they won't last forever so keep some extras on hand.

Gurgling usually means flooded atomizer. Take the atomizer off, blow it out into a tissue, and wipe dry the threaded areas if needed. Most end up switching to cartomizers for everyday vaping - if properly filled and cleaned up then kept damp they are less likely to leak and more consistent.
Crackling, popping, hissing are all good sounds of liquid being vaporized well by a fairly clean coil.

thanks for the help. just to confirm, if everythings fine I should still expect some sort of hissing noise?
actually you both mentioned it so I guess its fine. starting to see flashes at the edge of my vision now, think I've overdone the vaping in the last half hour...
false alarm, the light bulb just blew... not that this is of interest to the ecf community
