Has anyone had any trouble with the riva batteries and chargers. When i first used mine it was great, the best ecig i have ever had. The batteries charged twice then the light on the charger would flicker between red orange and green and stopped charginf alotgether, I am not sure if it fried the batteries, but i sent it back to ecigsoutlet and they replaced the battery and charger right away, but it only lasted two days and I had to send it back and they have sent me a new set today, their service is brilliant by the way. There seems to be a lot of people writing in on forums about this. I have only recieved my new riva today so hope this one works as the ecig itself is 10/10. Does anyone know of another charger that would fit the riva battery as their own charger seems to be thrown together and a bit cheap and nasty and yet the ecig itself is solidly built.

I've had a Riva for more than a month now and everything seems to be fine; maybe your supplier got a bad batch? I bought from Liberty Flights (also brilliant with the service) and I understand they originate in the UK, although I got mine from their San Diego branch. If you are happy with your current vendor that's great, and I'm sure they all get their original supplies from China anyway. However, since you are in Scotland, maybe you can look into Liberty Flights UK at some point?

BTW my charger seems to be fairly standard and not "cheap and nasty"...it's a standard usb and works a treat on my computer. Haven't had to try the wall wart yet.

I should add, although it sounds like you had bad luck with your units from the start, that cleaning the battery threads and charger threads is an absolute must. I don't just wait for them to be gunked up; I wipe down every time I disassemble the unit both on the battery and, as needed, in the charger. Again, it sounds like you got a defective unit from the get-go, but just in case, I thought I would add that. Good luck and Happy Vaping!

A very important question:

Are you using your computer as the power source, or are you using a Wall adapter?

Using your computer's USB port can be problematic, as they are limited in how much current they can provide. I'm not sure of the circuitry in the Riva's charger, but if it's trying to draw more than the computer will give it, it could cause a Brown-out kind of condition, which could *possibly* damage the computer, the battery, the charger, or all three at the same time.

If you're using the wall adapter, it could possibly be the suspect as well, with a similar condition as above.

If I were you, I'd replace the charger. If you're using the wall adapter, I'd replace that as well.

1. USB's give a standard power supply of 500 mA and 5V regulated.
2. Approved wall charger for riva/eGo/Tornado gives a power supply of 500 mA and 5V regulated.

There really shouldn't be too much of a difference between the two since they're set up to provide the same current and voltage.
But if you have a faulty charger, then yes, you could damage your computer.

ON THE OTHER HAND
You live in Scotland, and I have no idea how your power outlet works. When I lived in England I had to use a special power strip for all my American plugs.
I don't believe there should be significant difference in your USB. It would be a logistical nightmare for different countries to have different USB settings. So if you're using a wall charger and it's an American plug setting, I would recommend sticking with USB port.
