Just got my Riva the other day and was happily vaping away for a day or so. Then I decided to try out one of my other 510 atomizers I had lying around...nothing. I figured the atomizer was dead. Tried another. Nothing. And another. Nothing.

I have before me a pile of 6 510 atomizers (one of which came with the Riva!!!) that were pronounced dead by me. For some reason, I attached one of my older 510 batteries and the atomizer lit up as it was supposed to. All of the "dead" ones that don't work with the Riva work just fine with the regular 510 batteries.

Anybody got any ideas? Do I need to return the Riva?

I don't know if it will hold true with the atomizers, but some of the non-RiVa-specific cartomizers don't work as expected with the cone on. I know some of my 510 atties seem to have a tighter fit and I have to take the cone off to get the atties off, and then they're a little crooked (although they had been screwed onto the battery well. So, long story short, are you trying it with the cone on? If so, maybe try it without the cone and see if it works. Also, for some reason a drip tip also seems to interfere with the airflow for some people.

i had a similar problem with a 601 batt and it would work woth cartomizer but only one of my atomizers and one would not work at all. I am not sure what kinda metal they use for the battery to atomizer connection Brass? maybe. but i think it oxidizes i seen one ecig seller that sells an antioxidizing cream. But i think maybe a metal polish on the threads of battery and atomizer might work too

Some e-juices may cause oxidization faster than others too depending on flavor extracts.

I had this problem but the other way around..All of my atomizers would work with my eGo but not with my 510s. Someone told me to use my fingernail (I used a paper clip because i have no fingernails lol) and very, very gently lift at the connector end of the atomizer up. I stuck a paper clip in the hole and just slightly lifted up and it worked for me like a charm. I suspected the contact on my eGo is sticking out slightly more than on my 510s and pushing the contact on the atomizer in a bit, just enough to where it won't make contact when i stick them on the 510. Every time I switch the atomizer between my batteries like that, I have to do this.
