I'm new to the vaping scene. I currently use a G6 from Halo but the 808d threads and some other issues are making me want to move on. So, I was wondering if anybody could give me some opinions or education on the Riva-T battery. I ran across a kit that I think looks promising, but I'm not sure. It has two Riva 510 1100mah batteries, two CE2 clearomizers, and a whole host of goodies.

I want more opinions before handing over more money.

I am looking at this eGo-C kit as an alternative. It is a 650mah battery instead and comes with the type b tank system. I like the look of the tanks that come with the eGo, but have no idea about reliability, the availability of the cartridges, or the cartridge maintenance.

The regular eGo-c with the eGo-c tank system has had some problems but with proper maintenance that can be overcome. However, imo, for eGo sized batts, getting a Joye eGo-c with the Kanger T3S clearomizer is the best combination for fuss free vaping. There is only one true Joye eGo-c kit with the Kanger clearomizers that I've found, as a kit... here:

EGO-C 650mah and Kanger T3S Kit - $58.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

This comes with two true Joye eGo-c batts and two Kanger clearomizers. You have a few choices. The T3S (3ml) and the T3S mini (1.6ml). And you can get the clearo in 1.8 ohms or 2.5 ohms. I'd choose the T3S 3ml tank with the 1.8 ohm coil. That goes well with most flavors. The 2.5 ohm coil is too light for my lightest flavors. So if you vape light flavors, I'd suggest also getting some 2.2 ohm replacement coils for the T3S.

Kanger T3S/MINI T3S Replacement Coils - 5 Pack - $10.00 : Rocky Mountain Vapor, The Mountain top of Electronic Cigarettes

... choosing 2.2 ohms in the dropdown. You might also get a pack of 1.8 ohms for replacements for stronger flavors.

The other option would be to buy everything separately - 2 batts, a charger, 2 Kanger T3S, replacement coils. If you do that I'd suggest going to cignot for also true Joye batts and get the eGo-c upgrade batt. And the Kanger T3S, replacement coils, etc.

It's going to cost more than non Joye kits but it will save you money in the long run.

Thank you for the information. If going with the Kanger clearo is a better choice, is there a reason not to use a full Kanger Evod setup?

Many have gone with that. More stick with Joye eGos mainly because of experience and longevity. I have some I've had for a year and a half. If you check enough other threads here, you'll see the Joye eGos have a good reputation. You can get a lemon with any product but for the most part Joye eGos are quite good - it is what is copied and there's a reason for that. That said, I use Kanger T3s and T3S's and are quite pleased with the quality. I don't think I'd like the placement of the Kanger batt button just because of having so many 'not' like that :) Plus I don't think that any other manufacturer has the short and charge protection you get in the Joye eGo-c, eGo-c upgrade and the eGo-c Twist.
