riva-t tank cleaning - advice needed.

hi guys, need a little help on how i go about cleaning out riva tanks? i have tried to remove the rubber end but it seems fairly well stuck in as i do not want to put large amounts of force on them and prying gently does nothing.
should i fill the needle bottle i have with water and rinse it by washing water in and out of them?

or is there another method of cleaning them?

I at least do this: a syringe filled with warm water, shake, remove the liquid with the syringe. Then make a dry burn
