RM2 stuck!

Well, this is embarrassing! My RM2 is well and truly stuck to my Reo....and I didn't screw it down that tightly to start with. There is an 'o'ring covering the base, but no other reason for it to be stuck.

I tried hot water, I tried wrapping it in a towel and using pliers, I tried swearing and threatening it - it refuses to come unstuck... I'm afraid to use bigger/stronger pliers, because I don't want to ding the finish.

And, yes, I'm turning it counterclockwise

Any thoughts?

Stick a small screwdriver between the posts and gently try to turn it.

To put less pressure on the posts grab both with the pliers and try turing. I snapped a cyclone negative post with a screw driver between them.

Sounds like your o ring swelled up Some good advice given here . Let us no if you got the atty off

I was afraid to break the posts, so I used pliers with no towel - and luckily it worked!

Phew....had me concerned, especially since my other Reo is waiting for a repair kit LOL

We have all been there it happens glad you got it off

I have a 4" square if suede that is about 1/10th of an inch thick, that is my go to for anything stuck, it pads the pliers if you have to use them, and has more grip than towel, so sometimes I am able to avoid pliers. I have only had to use it on my REO once, and after reading the above posts I am guessing it was a swollen o-ring, I've worked with enough electronics to know about over tightening, but it does happen.
