RN4072 Low-Bridge attys wont work on new V2?

Ok i am confused by this. I placed a order for about 12 attys from PS. I was going thru them all today making sure they all worked ( screwed each one on to test before i stored them )

Anyways, i got to the 2 RN4072s i ordered ( wanted to try a low bridge atty ) and noticed that they only screwed on maybe a 1/2 turn if that? all my 801s will screw on about 1 1/2 -2 turn until there on.

Seems almost as if the threads are different or something? Since they wont screw down, they wont spark up?

Now the funny thing is, i have a 3rd 4072 i got from PS and it screws on fine and sparks up no problem.

Anyone have any 4072s and a V2 they could try this out on? Seems odd? Maybe the threads are bad on the 4072s i got?

I though for a minute, what if the 4072s didnt fit on the new V2, but after i tried a 3rd one i had from there and it sparked up and screwed all the way in, i got really confused.

I put it a ticket but just curious if anyone else noticed this that had 4072s

Oh and also, i screwed them onto my V1 Prodigy and they screw all the way down! Now it really makes no sense?

Weird Maf! Should definitely work ... Does the (2) RN4072's you have not thread completely down, like it feels like the threads stop? Could be the threads on the atty ...

I am not sure what it is, but this is where it gets weird. The 4072s wont screw down all the way on the V2, Since they wont screw down all the way, they wont spark up. I can get maybe a 1/2 turn or so before they stop.

Now, on my V1, they screw down ALL the way, without a problem. BUT only one will spark up, the other i get nothing.

and NOW, I have a 3rd 4072 from PS and it screws down perfectly fine and works perfectly fine on both the V1 and V2? lmao. Confusing ah?

It seems like the threads, but if it was the threads, why would they screw all the way down on the V1? strange?

So to sum it up...
They wont Screw down OR Work on V2
They will Screw down on V1 but only 1 will spark up
3rd 4072 i have works fine on both and screws down fine on both, lol.

lol ... Shoot Casey an email and we'll get you a couple new ones! That's really really odd -- I know RN's had inconsistencies ... one of the reasons we switched to mainly DSE's ... but what you're explaining ... i have no idea Tolerances, thread pitch, etc... between the V1 and V2 are identical.

Yeah i know!!! Weird ah? maybe later tonight ill take a quick video and post it and you can see what i mean...It would make sense if they didnt fit on the V1 either, but they do!!! lol Thanks CaSH!

i don't need a video maf, i believe ya I'll go play with a few RN's downstairs tonight/tomorrow and see what I find...

The only difference between the V1 Pen adapter and V2 Pen adapter is the fact we recessed the center post just a few thousandths to kind of imitate a stock battery. Doubt the center post has anything to do with it?

Ok not a problem. I will try and get a closer look at it but i am almost certain it is the threads. I will get a little deeper into it tonight and see what i come up with, I was just testing all the attys out and noticed they didnt screw down or work. I will let you know, I also sent in a ticket. Thanks!!!

BTW...Loving the V2!!!!!!

i got some of those attys with my PS PT and 2 didn't fit.

I just got my PT about the same time you got your prodigy.

I decided not to open up another atty so I can return. ( I have 6 RN's total.)

One the theads was way huge. The other seemed wierd like it didn't fit right.



Its the attys (RN's) thread being inconsistet.
Quality control on the RN4072s? Maybe a bad batch.

AH! So i am not alone on this one! Cool, I thought maybe i was going nuts or something...You happen to own a V1 by chance? see if it fits on that adapter. The part that just puzzles me is why it fits on the V1 but not the V2 adapter ( still they dont work ) but they do screw all the way one. Iam going to eye ball the threads and see if there is a difference.

yep... using protege 801 adapter. (protege and PS USB Pass v2)
(I don't have a V2 prodigy.)

btw...I thought I was crazy at first too...
....I soon figured out that my brain works fine after checking out the RN's threads.




Steve and Casey seem to be takin care of me....just wonder how long its going to take to get a refund.

My Puresmoker RN's are having the same issue with the V2 and other PVs as well .

I wish I never got them cause they have just proven to be useless but I was ignorant to the fact it was not the same one I thought I was ordering made by Joye which worked incredible on my other 3.7 PV
