My list is a mess right now but I'd try vendors who carry those brands.

4081
aquavaporcig.com
azsmokefree.com
dietsmokes.com
electronic-ash.com
vaporkings.com
wordupecig.com
bauway.com

103
anycigarette.com
azsmokefree.com
bestecig.com
e-cigarette-usa.com
ecigsmokerschoice.com
mackengeld.com
wordupecig.com

There are a ton of vendors I've found but haven't added the info yet so there are undoubtedly more.

Yes there are 4081 cartomizers.. I know of 3 places that have them. Again.. prefilled only..

I was holding off to see if I could get blank ones. Just can't find them anywhere. So I just placed an order with discountsmokestik.

I'll give an update when they arrive.

Yeah, really wished they had blanks also. Cross fingers they come out with them soon.

Yeah, blanks would have been the best of both worlds. I just hope they work as well as a few member have said they do.

I'm getting a rather large cigar box full of different batteries, atomizers, carts and cartomizers. Not to mention a half dozen changers or so. Can't seem to find an e-Cig with the perfect blend of size, vapor production, cost of replacements and somewhere in the USA to buy them.

Hopefully, a RN4081 (DSE103) battery with a Cartomizer is the ticket.

any news yet on these cartomizers?...

I received a pack of 5 RN4081 cartomizers from discountsmokestik and here is what I think…

First of all I thought the choice of Nicotine strength to be somewhat small. Either 16mg, 8mg or 4mg for regular tobacco. Only 8mg for Menthol. That was ok because I was looking to put my own juice in them.

http://shop.discountsmokestik.com/SmokeStik-Cartomizer-5-Pack-SM00032.htm?productId=586

The order went very smooth. Standard shopping cart followed by a confirmation of order e-Mail. The next day I received an e-Mail saying that the cartomizers had been shipped. They arrived 4 days latter. They came in a bubble envelope.

Before I washed one of the cartomizers out to put my own juice in it, I screwed it onto one of my RN4081 batteries for a couple of hits to see what it taste / hit like. Good God. It was so hard to get a hit off it I nearly sucked my eyeballs into my skull. I mean really hard to hit. But the taste wasn’t all that bad. Not a whole heck of a lot of vapor but it was hard to get any air thru the damn thing.

Time for some cartomizers surgery.

I pulled out my tools and selected my cartomizers tip remover. A stainless Steel pick which I filed down into a hook. As I went to probe the plastic tip of the cartomizers, I could feel some resistance. I shined a flashlight into the tip hole and it looked like the batting filled the entire cartomizer. I carefully got the hook under the plastic tip and pried it off. What I found was a round disc of batting between the outer plastic tip and the soft inner seal. Nice. Kinda a last line of defense for getting juice in your mouth.

I removed the batting disc and there was a second soft seal underneath. I got my hook under this one and pulled it out. Now I could see the inners. What I saw was the atomizer wire going roughly down the center of the cartomizers surrounded by batting. The batting didn’t look very moist at all. In fact it just looked like an analog cig filter. I couldn’t make out any center airway hole. I selected a jumbo, straightened paper clip from my tool kit which I had filed to a somewhat sharp point. Very carefully, from the battery side, I worked the paperclip into the cartomizers. It took 4 or 5 tries to get it to poke thru but it finally did. After it did, I gave the cartomizers a spin or two to create an airway.

I took a couple of test hits and it was much better. Not great, but vape-able. The taste was better but I still wasn’t getting much vapor. So I put 4 drop of 18mg VG based Vanilla into the cartomizers. It soaked them up in about 50 nanoseconds so I put 4 more. These took about 2 seconds to absorb so I gave it 2 more drops for good luck and started to put it back together. I didn’t bother putting the second soft seal in nor the batting disc. I just replaced the plastic tip with one soft seal under it.

After a 4 or 5 puffs I could taste a hint of Vanilla and I could start to see VG vapor like I’m used to. The taste is actually quite good. I’ve used this cartomizers for a little under a week. The draw has gotten better and I have refilled it 2 times. Each time I have put 14 or so drops in it. I don’t believe in ever letting a cartomizers get dry. I always refill before it is empty.

Grades and Conclusion:

Discountsmokestk: A, Fast ship
Mg and Flavor Section: D, Only the bare bones available
Price: D-, still cheaper than analogs but twice as expensive as 510 Cartomizers
Taste: B, Not too bad right out of the box
Vapor: C-, Not much vapor
Ease of Hit: B-, And this was after a paper click reaming
Construction: A, Seems very well made
Battery Fit A, Fits an RN4081 Battery Perfectly

So to sum it all up, the Smokestik cartomizers are kinda a mixed bag. If the atomizer wire lasts, it will offset the initial high price. I liked taste but if I had not done cartomizers surgery to it, I would have sucked my ear drums down to get a hit. A newbie might also severed the atomizer wire if not careful opening up the airway. Overall not a bad Cartomizer.

BTW - Sorry for the long post. I tend to have way too much nervous energy since I quite analogs.

Zoi: (and anyone else interested) take a look at my review of the 4081 cartos from SmokeStik here. I think you missed something important in your "surgery" of the carto. :)

I had no issues myself with draw of these cartos, what you describe is what I have experienced with GreenCig cartos, VERY hard draw, I can't stand GreenCig cartos for this main reason, that and the taste sucks.

I'm sure I missed many things. Perhaps you can enlighten me.

The cartomizer was a Smokestik. At least it looked like the picture of a Smokestik and came in a Smokestik box and was purchased from a site that sells Smokestik. It could have been that the cartomizer I tested was packed too tight. I've seen that happen before.

But the only reason I tried it was that I can not find a RN4081 Battery to Joye 510 adapter. I have 4 RN4081 batteries laying around collection dust since I got a 510.

The long and the short of it is that the Smokestik cartomizer I tried was OK but not worth the money for me.

Once you try these...

FIVE (5) Joye 510 compatible e-Cigarette blank cartomizers (This is NOT Genuine Joyetech!)

It makes ALL other cartomizers look like something you get in a Cracker Jack box. They are easier to fill. Hold More Juice. Give a MUCH better hit and are Cheaper than Smokestik cartomizers.

Doesn't take too many bubbles in a jar to figure out which ones I bought more of. ;)

I know what you mean, IMO the 510 cartos are the best on the market so far, giving the best combination of flavor, throat hit and vapor consistantly, and hold 40 drops of juice.

However the 4081 SmokeStik cartos DON'T burn, I've taken 4 different ones apart, vaped all dry, and even vaped one briefly at 6v. (that killed it, and don't recomend high volts for these cartos) None of these burned the filler, and you can take out the filler, wash it, and put it back, you can't do that with any other carto.

So these are also my favorite cartos, but for different reasons. Flavor, throat hit and vapor are good, almost as good as a 510, but hold less juice.

I like to have a varity. :)
