Just got mine from Totally Wicked and this thing rocks! Tons of vapor and I'm loving the size. This is my first day and first experience with vaping so I'll update on how this thing performs over the long haul but so far I'm really happy. (btw how many posts do I have to make to be able to post on the other forums? I wanted to put this in the review section but I can't :()

Generally speaking, not much is thought of the RN4081 around here, but I have one (the PeeWee from puresmoker and an NPRO) and am really happy with them. (Granted I have nothing to compare it to, but anyway.) Down the road you might consider purchasing a passthrough for it--lots more vapor and no changing batteries--which is good for when you're in one place (home or office). I use the passthrough with a Kensington Power Pack, and it's great!

I'm not sure when you can post in other threads. I think it's 15 posts.

A pass thourgh is a must. It is a simulated battery with a USB cable. The USB cable can connect to external power sources so you don't use a battery. You use the external power source instead.

External power sources can be:
Power port in your car
USB port on your computer
External portable battery pack or power pack

The RN4081 is also a great dripping unit. You should be refilling your own carts as well. There is much information regarding dripping, refilling, cleaning and spare parts to keep on hand.

Welcome aboard

RN4081 is my current main e-cig. Not with batteries though - only with USB pass-through and Kensington Power Pack. :D One of the reason that I really like this model is it's very easy to drip.

Short cartridge life, short battery life and not so simple topping off is down side, but as far as USB passthrough and dripping goes, this one works like a champ. :D

My N-Pro is my favorite but like you say the small cart is a real pain for us all. I have a Janty DuraC that is just as good and easier to refill so I use it more but when it comes to really thick smoke the 4081 is the big winner. A redesigned cart would make it a much more used E-cigg. I have had different attys in it and they do seem to make a huge difference, some don't hardly work at all but a few just scream.

I agree (now) that the pass-through is a must-have, but if I'd heard such a thing on my first day of vaping, I'd have found it a bit overwhelming. It's definitely a great thing to have, but you might want to just get comfortable with and enjoy what you have for the time being. :)

P.S. Do order some juice, though, if you haven't already. The mistake I made early on was relying on cartridges only, and I ran out quickly. I ran out of carts and "had to" smoke an analog a week into vaping--it made me sick!

After 2 months, my batts are still going strong, and I lost one atty. I just started using one of my M401's to give the 4081 a rest.

Didn't you stock-up 20+ attys for 4081, yet already saving it only after losing just one? ;)

I really should have said "small cartridge capacity", and "battery only last a couple hours", instead of short life span. ;) Yes. I have 2 atomizers on my 4081, and both of them are working like chapms, even when I'm just dripping only. It gives weaker vapor production in about 5-6 days, but when I clean it up, it just springs back to life like brand new+. Love those little attys.

As a matter of fact, that I really like the shallow location of the atomizer. I think when do get my Prodigy 801, I might just cut one atomizer short and specifically use it for dripping only. First saw-off shotgut, now saw-off atty! ;D

Yup - bought 25. The blown atty is in a pill bottle waiting for a new coil wire. I save *everything*. I hope to be vaping years from now with at least 20 backups still in the box. Keeps my calm & worry free, and It gives me something to do when I'm bored.

What method do you use to clean the atomizer?

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm curious about how to clean my atomizer as well. I bought an extra one so that I can alternate them between days and I also bought juice and some empty carts (but TW sent me the wrong carts :/ so hopefully I can get that fixed in the next couple days). Any advice on the atomizers though?

Here's what I do.

I take some soda. Any soda. I happen to drink Coke Zero or Diet Coke, or sprite. Some prefer Pepsi - but I just don't have that handy.

I soak my atomizers in fresh Soda - for about an hour. Then I rinse it roughly, and I pop them into boiling water for about 15-30 min or so.

After cooling it down a few min, I take out from the water, blow out excess water from battery side, roughly wipe out the water with clean paper towel... then I drain, standing up, or leaning a little, Battery side up, overnight.

In the morning, I take a few drops - for RN4081, 2-3 drops - normally 1-2 drops more than I do with regular dripping to moisturize it, and start vaping. :)

I've been doing so every week, and all my atomizers (4 801s, 1 901, and 2 4081) are working great. :)

No wonder all the 4081 attys are out of stock! LOL. Just kidding.

After writing my previous reply, I really decided to saw off a 801 atomizer. I cut about little more than half inch, 5/8 inches to be exact, so that I could reveal the wick closely. I just dripped and.. wowza. I mean, really wow...!

I'm not currently using any mouth piece at all... but it's giving out so much flavor and very pleasantly warm vapor, like 4081 dripping - but at the same time, very easy to draw! (I used to get tongue cramp from drawing too hard). I think I made a little discovery myself, although I highly doubt it's anything new... I might post it up with some pictures on modders forum. :D

Mini e-cigarette USB Battery: usb battery for BE103/DSE103/RN4081

BE103 = DSE103. The size for the battery is same as RN4081, so you can use this usb pass-through. I bought it from Puresmoker when they had it in stock, and it came with a sticker says "DSE 103" ;)

However becareful not to mix 103 atomizers and carts with 4081, as I hear they are different. (only the battery is exchangable).

I'm a fan of my NPRO (rn4081) 2 (almost three) weeks with the original 2 batteries and original atty. I soak the batting with liquid, not enough to pool, then I drip one or maybe two drops and it works great, usually make sure the batting is constantly wet and I just reapply drips to the atty every time I vape. It's been working out pretty good with this method, I will be buying new batteries and attys soon just to be safe.

Does anyone know a US supplier for the DSE103 or RN4081 USB Passthrough? I went through the entire list of sponsoring suppliers looking for the RN4081 USB Passthrough...I didn't know it was DSE104 compatible at the time:confused: The only suppliers I could find were China and UK and with the custom's problem I'd rather order from the USA.

Thanks!
