So, I got my first EVOD today. Awesome contraption. Honestly. What a well designed device. That said, I made a booboo. I decided to fill it up with "root beer float". OH MY GOD. What an AWFUL concoction. So, I dumped it out, and tried washing the thing out under hot tap water. Then I dry burned it. All seemed OK, so I filled it up with some berry flavor, that I know I like. Well, it still has a pronounced "hint" of that root beer garbage. Is there a good way to get rid of. It, or should I cut bait on that coil head and just replace it? Thanks for your assistance.

Yours truly,

Pukey Root Beer Gagg-O Guy

Let it sit in boiling water with a hint of coffee ground powder for a bit

Or if you have time. Dip it in rubbing alcohol all night. Then next day let it sit and evaporate for a whole day. This is what I do and works well but make sure when it's done drying you let it sit on the berry like flavor for a while so it gets in well and soaks up well.

And I love root beer. You may have saved me some money. I will rethink that purchase.

Seriously, there are several ways to clean the heads. I am new also so will follow this thread for some expert advice. I bought a 510 atomizer and drip tip to try out new juices. I really like the dripping. I like the Evod once I know I will like the juice for an extended period of time.

Tucson, it's a dry heat
I have also read not to use isopropyl. I use vodka - and I use it over and over until the liquid is ugly. Then I dump it. I always soak my used evods in vodka for a few hours (not overnight) and then rinse with hot water and let dry completely. This always seems to get rid of obnoxious flavors. Yes, beware that rootbeer and COLA especially can cloud or crack an Evod, as The Ocelot's blog will illustrate.

fwiw, one thing i've noticed is that i generally prefer to stay away from flavors that have strong associations with components that can't be recreated in vapor. coca cola e-liquid, for example, has a flavor that's strikingly similar to real coca cola. however, you can't recreate the coldness and fizziness of a can of coke with e-liquid, so you end up with something that reminds you more of a coke that's been sitting out open overnight.

True this ^
That's good advice. I'll take it one step further, and say that maybe I won't vape anything that wouldn't taste good hot. i.e. hot root beer. P.U.

rootbeer/cola + cold stainless steel tip of protank = cold rootbeer/cola =D

i vaped 15ml of MVB rootbeer in my evod- no issues. your results may vary.

x2 what a great device, the evod. if i am concerned about not mixing flavors, i just give the thing a good rinse in warm water, dry everything well, blow through the atty, dry burn it 2 times, and im good to go... i may taste that first flavor for a hit or two but its pretty much completely gone after that. i've never felt the need to soak.

Shameless plug time here...I just wrote a review of AVE's Root Beer, and that's the problem I have with Root Beer...I want it to be an ice cold bottle of real root beer. Cola on the other hand tastes different enough for me to enjoy a cola flavor just about all day. I've been vaping Ahlusion's Cherry Cola like it's going out style the past couple of weeks.

I wonder if adding Koolada would make a difference?
