So, I passed out on the couch last night and woke up to my Vamo missing. Turned the couch over, looked in the cushions, no luck. Finally found it in my shirt pocket ( I apparently make better decisions asleep :)), sadly this was as it was falling out on the tile floor. Everything held up fine and still worked like a champ. This morning the Vamo took a little trip into a snow drift in my yard on my way out to work (I seem to notice a pattern of clumsiness and just waking up). I thought for sure this would kill my Vamo and ripped the battery out and set it up in the kitchen I work in to let the insides dry out. Luckly I grabbed my ego twist and was still okay for the day. Went to take a break latter in the day only to find that my carto had ripped out of its socket in my pocket, something that I never normally do at work, and now had what I figured to be two broken devices. Got home and put in a new carto in my ego, and put the battery back in the Vamo and both are working great.

Long story short, if anyone is looking for a device that can take a bit of abuse and keep on ticking, I highly recommend the Vamo.

My vamo fell out my pocket once and broke into 2 pieces. I put the pieces back together and it worked fine. Its a pretty solid device but I don't think it would stand up to being run over by a tundra like my provari did. I'm pretty clumsy with my devices as well which forces me to buy things that are durable :)

Good to know she can stand up to this kind of abuse. Gonna be bummed once winter is over and I can't use the little front pocket on my coat I swear it was made for a Vamo. Anybody have any suggestions for carrying it without a coat.

Search for a small flashlight belt holster, thought I saw someone post about this.

Man you need to evaluate a new carrying system. Not that a little shock testing doesn't give some peace of mind but not every day

I completely agree. I am a bit of a klutz but normally not this bad. This is the first abuse any of my stuff has taken, just luck of the draw that it was all in the same day. At work I normally just leave everything in the storage room, that day I just decided to toss it in my pocket and didn't think about it. I will be picking up one of those holsters shown in these posts.

When something like this happens where pretty much anything electronic gets wet, disconnect the power source. Then go get a jar or something big enough to cover the whole object. Put it in the jar. Fill the jar with rice. Let sit for 24 hours. That's your best chance. Rice absorbs water pretty aggressively.
