i've been searching around, but haven't really found a good, solid "cleaning" thread.

When my juice gets really dark and i feel like it's time to clean it out, i'm wondering if i'm doing it right.

Right now, i'm breaking down my whole build every time i clean. taking it apart, rinsing and drying everything, and recoiling. can i clean it out good withOUT recoiling?

I did one of two things, when I used to oxidize my wicks really well my wick wouldn't slide out from the coils so I just removed them as a pair, don't undo the wire from wick. once its out you can rinse it and take a tooth brush to it and give it a little torch, then just re connect the pos & neg. if your doing a set-up in which your wick will slide out from the coils, then just slide it out, rinse, brush, and torch, then slide back in. before sliding back in pulse your coils to clean and you also can brush then off as well. this will take care of the wick & coils, as for the device, you can (like the above post) just syringe in some water and swish around, then syringe back out. you also can use some grain alcohol as well if you don't have a plastic tank. now every now & then you may just want to do a whole new set-up and just make a new wick & coil, but a good wick & coil should go for months without any issues. good luck
