Ruined tank or just my juice?

Hi,

Using an Ego Twist with the stock tank.

I started with maple tobacco from paradise vapes. I loved it and everything was fine. However, when it came time to clean the tank I'm not sure if I messed it up or something. I followed this video to the letter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uu6pGs1JcrY

It's not the same tank, but similar makeup. I decided to try a new flavour, so I filled it with Vanilla from vapenjuice. It was pretty awful, I could taste the vanilla but even my GF made a face trying it. So I cleaned it out again, and tried Orange from vapenjuice. It tastes like nothing. I taste nothing but a slight metallic aftertaste, no orange. Doesn't taste burnt either, just nothing.

I can't find any reviews for vapenjuice and it's dirt cheap. I'm wondering if it's just the tank or to stay away from that juice?


Oh, I also tried replacing the entire middle section after cleaning. Not sure what it's called, new wick and everything. It still tasted really bad.

Some of these clearos will kill taste in mild juices, so could be the juice. No way to really tell unless you have something more efficient to compare it to.

Well I did have the maple tobacco and it was a kick in the face of maple flavour. So I wasn't expecting to taste nothing from the others. I'll clean it and put more maple back in and see if the flavour is still there.

That is a good video. I really don't think you damaged the clearo. My bet is the other juices don't have much flavor. Try the maple tobacco again and you'll see how that compares after the cleaning.

Yup, third puff in with maple and it's full of flavour. Well, maybe that's why they were free with the ego I'll just put the extra money in and get better flavours

I didn't watch the video but if you didn't you should let the clearo soak in vodka overnight then make sure you dry burn the coil on the atomizer. Any buildup on the coil could inhibit flavor.

I'll dig around a bit and see what people say about soaking it in alcohol. The only reason I was worried that I wrecked the tank was because of the dry burn. It made some rather unfriendly noises at me

After dry burning rinse the ash form the coil in water. As for the VapenJuice Vanilla if it has a perfumey smell/ taste it may need to be steeped. Also those clearos are top coil- occasionally you'll need to tilt the clearo horizontally to keep the wicks/ coil wet otherwise you'll get a weak vape cuz there's no juice in the coil area.

Hey, just a quick update for anyone who's interested. I ordered 3 more higher priced liquids from canvape. Maple tobacco, strawberry swirl ice cream, and an eVo caramel latte. I am 100% more satisfied with them, and they have leagues more flavour than the previous ones.

That caramel latte is to die for. Definitely worth it to spend the extra few bucks. Still using the original tank, so it's all good now.
