Hi~
Got my R91 a couple of days ago and have gotten a 1.9Ohm coil spun up for it. Only thing is, I've only got an EVOD battery to power it... When I put the coil on it does get red,,,,eventually. Just as it starts to glow the EVOD hits the 10 second mark and shuts down. Pretty paltry vape production and flavor (using VCV caramel tobacco @ 100%VG)

I'm waiting on provape's memorial day sale to get my provari mini kit- but really itching to use the R91!

What is the lowest ohm coil I can run on the EVOD? TIA!

Be happy, that it does turn off. Otherwise, it (the battery exploding) might take your hand off. Your current battery can't handle it! Wait for your ProVari! It'll be able to handle it, although they do recommend 2+ Ohm (http://www.provape.com/v/images/attyrange.pdf). I have a Kayfun plus V2 with a 1.9 Ohm on my regular size ProVari working just fine.

I have 4 provaris ...1 with an R91, 2 with kayfuns and 1 with a Taifun. All are between .9 and 1.3 ohms. The Provaris fire them all perfectly. Your EVOD battery is not going to blow your hand off with a 1.9 ohm coil in it. You can put whatever you want on an EVOD battery....I'd stay above 1.5 ohms. You're biggest problem will be how damn silly that thing looks on an EVOD! Congrats on your R91 and even bigger congrats on your future provari. When you order it, make sure you order the provari ring. Its $8 and will make it look great with that Atty. Have fun!

thanks. I guess I just need to be patient. I'm admittedly a bit of a kit junky. The EVOD BDC glass tanks are taking care of things well enough ... for now.

I wish that ring was $8!

I'm not a Provari hater in any way - I'd love to have one - but I do think it's absurd that Provape charges extra for that ring. If you're paying $200+ for a mod it should come with a part (for no additional charge) that the majority of purchasers can use.

Sorry, just seems really greedy to me. After watching PBusardos's video of the tour he did of the Provape plant, it surprises me that they do that. They seemed like really good guys. It's disappointing.

**edit to add - same with the extended end cap. Should be included IMO.

Everyone has a different experience. I run my army (now have 8, lol) of KFL+ original and clones at 2.0 ohms. They run fine on all my regulated devices. I would suggest using 32gauge kanthal on a straight up eGo battery as it will heat more quickly.

On a non-regulated device such as yours I would shoot for 1.6 ohms. Any lower will tax your battery.

Good lord! ...It looks really nice but they want a lot for 5 cents worth of steel.

A standard default Provari costs $159. Less if you order a slightly blemished model.

Don't count the cost of batteries, charger, customized color of the LED or body finish, or custom parts (beauty ring or battery extension cap/ring) when comparing prices with other mods. To compare fairly, just compare the default price.

If other manufacturer happen to include batteries/charger with their mod (most don't), they often are cheap :censored: batteries/charger that you would throw away anyway.

Other manufacturers charge extra for battery extension rings (AltSmoke charges $25 for their Kick extension ring, same price Provape charges for their extension cap).

Not every customer wants/needs a colored Provari, colored LED display, or battery extension cap -- so why increase the overall price of a standard Provari by including more expensive features that they may not want? At least Provape offers custom features to those who want them; don't complain if you have to pay more for those custom features.

The black beauty ring that Provape sells is painted with the special ceramic coating which is outsourced to another business, not done by Provape. The difference in cost of the black ($18) over the stainless ring ($8) is likely what Provape is charged for the painting service of the black one.

Provape charges $25 more for the painted Provari's because that is what it costs Provape to have them painted. Again, this is not done "in house".

Why Provari?
