So my RX 200 was sitting idle yesterday and when I went to use it, 1st I had the atomizer too low message and then the device too hot message. I had just put freshly charged batteries in and I was using my TFV4 with a 4.4 ohm sextuple coil that is only a week old. I switched out to my other set of batteries and then the device went dead. I let it sit for about half an hour and it started working again but about every 3rd vape I would get the device too hot message and then it would fire again for another couple of vapes before giving me the same message.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I started a claim since I have a few more days on the warranty and now it is not doing it. I did notice my tank was getting really hot earlier in the day and the device was hot even when I hadn't used it for a few minutes. At the time this all started everything was cool to the touch and I ddid not find any issues with the 510 connection.

Everything in good shape and batteries are HG L2s and authentic. Device also has the latest update downloaded and I changed tanks with different resistance coils. After it sat a few minutes it stopped doing it and was still working this morning. I will use it tonight and all day tomorrow and see if it happens again. I was just wondering if it had happened to anyone else and what their results were.

It sure sounds like it is getting too hot because the o-ring inside the top of the 510 connection is chewed up and shorting. The short causes the atomizer short error to popup. I would check that black o-ring and make sure it is ok.
I checked it and I don't see a problem with it. I have spare o rings also, but since the mod is not even a month old I am just going for the replacement. Mod is dead now anyway

By the way, it is not an atomizer short message, it is an atomizer low message. It decided to come out of it's coma for a few minutes this morning and a new coil that reads .15 across 3 other devices was reading .28
I took 3 good vapes and it died again. If no one else is having this problem then I'll go for a replacement over store credit.

Yes of course. The wording depends on the mod in question, but either error message means the same thing.

That is a big ohm difference. You are not using TC wire like Ni200, Ti, or something are you? As a warm coil will read higher than a cold coil. And whether or not if others have experienced the same thing, yours still isn't working right. I would return it myself.

Thanks Bill. I don't do TC, I prefer Power mode. After reading thru the different problems I am returning the device and opting for store credit and I plan on getting the IPV5 instead so I can use my RDAs on it and my TFV4 tanks without any issues.

It seems that my RX200 had a problem with the board overheating, I ended getting it replaced and I also bought an IPV5. I believe my problem with the RX200 started when I downloaded the latest update, as it worked fine until then. I still don't like Wismec stating that using any tank or RDA other than their brand will void the warranty, they may as well say it has no warranty.

Well to be honest, I never heard of anybody having any luck with Wismec warranty anyway. And one store I saw online (I can't find it yet) stated they sent in mods to Wismec under warranty and never got the mods back or ever heard from them again. They still sell them, but just eat the cost of one fails.

If you ever buy another mod that has a short 510 depth, KidneyPuncher sells Mod Guards that are 0.4mm thick (plastic washers really) that work very well. I even use them on my other mods too to prevent the atty from scratching up the mods. I think they are like 2 bucks for 5 plus shipping.

Thanks Bill but someone suggested before I ordered the RX 200 that I put a heat sink on it so I ordered several and they seem to work well. May save the 510 connections on several of my mods;)

Yes I never bought any heatsinks yet, but I heard lots of nice things about them. I used to use 510 adapters a couple of years ago. Like a heatsink without the fins. But sometimes they would short and I quit using them.

I did wear out one 510 once that was chrome plated brass, so I replaced it. That was back when I only had one real mod. I think the rest were eGo batteries. But I got so many mods nowadays that I still have plenty of others if something does happen to a few of them.

I also did end up buying eight Heatvape Invader Mini mods last year. Those are nice, since the 510 threads is on the top cap and the top cap is as easy to replace as an atty. And I bought ten top caps and I only had one get a bit funny on the threads after a year. The top caps also double as atty stands. So I'll always use them.

I have a Heatvape Invader Mini that I carry in my Kayak. Its a nice device and I like the top cap design too until my tank gets stuck in it and I have to put a sock over it and get out the channel locks.

Yeah I learned real quick to tighten it down by the top cap only. Sure you can't get a real good grip to torque it down tight. But that is the whole idea.

Well, i seen the problem right away. A 4.4ohm coil is way too high for the RX200 too read lol
