some are based on the Asian style which is kinda spicy for lack of a better description, then there are many based on the double style of a caramel or butter toffee type flavor from ruyan, there are so many as everyone is trying to perfect their own version, i love ry4 caramel type. in the right atomizer with the right wattage it is very close to a tobacco smoke feel to the vapor with a hint of sugar daddy caramel candy, mmm good stuff..

very popular and everyone wants theirs to be best, pretty much a vape standard if there ever was one.

LOL ... sort of ... first rule of vape club ... oh wait ... :)

Seriously though, it is recommended to search for your answers, and if you can't find them, post in the forums. That is what the forums are really here for (I think).

The RY series is the manufacturer Ruyan (RY) and the "blend" number associated with a given mixture. For example, RY4 is Ruyan blend #4. This is one of the more common RY blends, but you will see others as well. RY4 is a blend that contains the flavors of tobacco, Vanilla and Caramel.

As for more on RY4, try this out http://the-rok-star-rebel.blogspot.com/p/history-of-ry4.html

I'm seeing a lot of RY* liquids around, what's the story there?
I guess I could have Googled the hell out of this and got an answer but hey that's what the forum's here for right. ;)

It stands for Ruyan recipe 4. Ruyan is phonetically chinese for "like smoking" and is the name of the first e-cig company. Many people including Janty claim to be the inventors of RY4.

Typically, it's a tobacco flavour with additions of caramel and vanilla, among other things.

ETA, and yes Google would have given you some answers in the first page.

Short version - a Chinese company "invented" the first super-sucessful flavor, and called it RY4, after Ruyuan something - the name of the company I think. Now EVERYONE has their version of an RY4, and names things that are similar with similar names (like R-Why-Four, or OurWhereFour).

The basic idea is a blend including a tobacco flavor, caramel, and vanilla.

There's a HUGE thread here called "The big RY4 Roundup" that compares a bunch of them...

I've never had two RY4 blends that taste the same.
Some don't even taste anything like what an RY4 is supposed to taste like.

I have a number of RY4 blends that I really like...
--Dekang RY4
--Halo Tribeca
--Vermillion River Kentucky Premium
--Vaperite VR4

The main difference for me is how sweet they are, versus how tobaccoey they are.
Some of the above are sweeter, and some lean more to the tobacco side.

I like them all, but it depends on my mood.

Here is a link to the RY4 roundup thread mentioned above...

There are only 4800 posts to wade through.
That should keep you busy for awhile.
