I see these all the time but what exactly are they? A standard tobacco flavor?

Great question, and one that I have been wondering about, and even looked up on Google but found no answers, only links to e-cig forums and dealers of e-liquids.

But where did these terms come from? Are they terms used in the tobacco industry?

HHV heavenly tobacco is a great ry4 flavor. 555's are a bit harder to find a good sweet nutty one. Diyflavorshack's 555 is good. I'm trying RAWR nutty tobacco this time around. Basically should be a 555. A good 555 has always been one of my favorites.

Great! I have Heavenly tobacco on the way now, well actually it should have probably been here by now as I ordered it on Monday, but it wasnt shipped til today, so...

Ya they've been a bit behind lately. Too much interest in their juices. Trust me if you like ry4's this is a good one. I think ry4's are one of those like it or hate it flavors and are not for everyone. I've had several ry4's and though I'm not a huge fan of them in general this one is one of the best that I've had.

You know I have no idea. When I got into vaping a few years ago all the talk was 555's and ry4's. So I of course tried them and found out for myself. For me anyway a good 555 is fairly sweet and nutty with a mild tobacco undertone. Ry4 to me should be a robust kind of tobacco with a good caramel/vanilla undertone. Just from my experience trying different ones and the ones I liked the best.

555 is supposed to be based on a cig British Tobacco called 555 State Express. Chinese developers first began this formula for juice back in the day. I have tried several and all are different.
RY4 (short for Ruyan #4) is a very popular eliquid that incorporates three basic component flavors: a tobacco base (usually mild and understated, but occasionally stronger and more up front), caramel, and vanilla.

There are apparently as many versions of RY4 as thoughts in your head at bedtime.
