The title of this is sort of a joke, but it does express how I'm feeling tonight. So I smoked (and still do occasionally have) menthol cigarettes exclusively. I did start out with non-menthol 14 years ago in college, but they started grossing me out so I switched to only menthol. Fast forward to a couple years ago when I discovered vaping: understandably, I only started with menthol which was too "minty", so I ventured--as a lot of us do--to all sorts of random stuff. Cherry milkshake, fruit punch, gummy bears, butterscotch, cinnamon roll, banana nut bread, mocha-frappuccino-whatever-the-hell... and I get sick of ALL of them. Very quickly.

But what can I vape for hours and days? RY4. It has single-handedly brought me back from multiple bouts of "I am so tired of vaping." I started with a couple bottles of Volcano RY4, got some Clouds Of Vapor COV4, and tonight I cracked open my first ever bottle of Halo Tribeca (which tastes even more like tobacco than the others). In between, I keep blowing money on large orders with different vendors for more interesting sounding sweet fruit juices, baked goods juices, etc. and I dislike 99% of them. And it's weird because I HATE non-menthol cigarettes.

So why is RY4 the "one"? Part of me wonders jokingly if it's because it was the most popular flavor out of all of the original e-cigarette flavors when vaping was invented. Maybe it's the spirit of vaping. Just look at this forum... there's a thread about RY4 that's 428 pages long. I made the funny correlation in my head of McDonald's and the Big Mac. Whenever McDonald's releases some weird new product (onion and cheddar burger, habanero ranch Quarter Pounder, Daily Double, Snack Wrap), I HAVE to run out and try it like a fat American idiot... but in my head I always think "I'm at McDonald's, I should be eating a Big Mac instead."

Um... the end. /vapes Tribeca

P.S. How are Halo's menthol juices? :p

The place I ordered my first kit, I got some "Turkish Tobacco" and some Vanilla. I put a little vanilla in the tobacco - and loved it. I stopped smoking about a week later. Then I started trying all kinds of other flavors, and when the original source dried up, looked for a "Vanilla Tobacco". Most were horrible.

To get to the point - I like some RY4's, and I like Tribeca too.
But there's a WHOLE WORLD of RY4 out there - LOL.
We're not "done". We get to keep looking for other recommended vendors, trying their RY4, or variant.
I've found a couple I like, and a couple I don't...

Right, sometimes it feels like a quest to find the right RY4 for me, since I guess very few people know what the original tastes like really. I've tried a few and recently found a thread that ranks RY4, not sure which one. So I ordered some RY4 from smokeless image, which is supposedly one of the top notch for RY4. We'll see what my tastebuds think of it. I also just recently made a trade for some TriBeCa which I am anxious to try.

While most of my favorite e-liquids are made with naturally extracted tobacco (NET), I enjoy vaping RY4s. Part of it is that there's so much variety and variation. It's fun trying different takes on RY4s. For synthetics, I still place Janty's DK RY4 at the top. The company invented RY4 and while others have come close, it's still my favorite. For NET RY4s, Goodejuice GJ4 is fantastic, though people with a sweet tooth might prefer Mountain Oak Vapor Full Virginia Flake.

If you're really interested in RY4s, Bill Herbst's thread is must-read material:

I agree. I'm on a RY4 grail like quest. Love the mix I got from myvapestore, now I want to try each and everyone.

Funny thing is, I've spent a bit of money getting into vaping and it's still cheaper than smoking.

Thank you for linking to this thread. My favorite flavor right now is 'SweetBacco' from Vapelicious which sounds similar to descriptions I've heard of RY4. So I figured RY4 would be right up my alley. Was gifted a sample from a well-known vendor and it was the worst juice I've ever tried. (Yes, it was steeped - 7 weeks by that point. I even threw away the brand-new clearo I'd put it in because I swear it was contaminated.)

But now I'm going to read that thread. I'm sure there's an RY4 out there that I'll absolutely love.

Hmm. Is the Ruyan Company still around? Like to get my hands on the original recipe.

I think it is pretty good (at least the version I tried from ECBlend) though my fiancee loves it even more than I do.

I much prefer triple and quadruple chocolate blends, as I am a chocolate hound!

Dark Chocolate: Love it, though over 70% cacao content is a bit too much for me. Begins to taste too bitter.
Milk chocolate: 2nd favorite
White Chocolate: 3rd favorite

Chocolate! Chocolate! Chocolate!

Yeah.. RY4 is what first got me hooked. Tragically that particular RY4 is no longer produced (they changed the recipe which now tastes like window cleaner) and i couldnt find any other local blend nearly as good. I started trying to make my own RY4 by ordering any and all kinds of flavorings and now i'm not even trying to make RY4 anymore because just mixing is way more fun and occasionally very tasty. Havent vaped the same juice 2 days in a row for months now :D When i stumble on something great i write it down and intend to review them when i run out of new things to try.
