Ruyan #4 - Dekang - The original was sort of a tobacco-caramel... cotton candy-like flavor ;-)
anyway, an incredibly popular flavor that most vendors tend to have their own take on... The basic premise seems to be tobacco + Caramel + Vanilla + or....
In other words, not many folks' RY4 tastes the same.
Some of my favorites include the original Dekang, Backwoods Brew, Janty, nHaler's R Y NOT, Vapor Talks Dulcis... Vaperite and FSUSA have some very interesting takes... Vapor station has some potent and sweet mixes...

Also note 555 and RY4 taste similar. i had 555 in my 510 and in my 901 RY4..vaped both... very close to each other, but 555 seems to be less sweet and more tobacco undertones..as where RY4 is sweeter and more caramel nutty taste.

RY4 is kind of a sweet tobacco flavored. It's good if you like tobacco. Some are better than others.
I love to mix Ry4 and hopscotch from freedomsmokes at a 3:2 ratio... This is my everyday vape. yumm.
I've had RY4 from 4 different vendors and they all tasted different. IMO 555 is nothing like any of the RY4's that I tried. Not to say BestLion that you're 555 was like RY4 that you tried.
555 is more of a nutty tobacco flavor, which can be sweet as well. RY4 is a tobacoo flavor that is kind of heavy with caramel and a touch of vanilla. I havent found one near as good as Dekang's original (that was changed last April to a not so good recipe). Ikenvape is supposed to be coming out with an RY4 soon that is supposed to be an exact clone to the original Dekang recipe.
555 is vanilla almond tobacco
RY4 is vanilla caramel tobacco
So they both share a vanilla flavor.
Some 555's are very nutty (like Backwoods Brew) and some are sweeter or smoother
Some RY4's are less sweet (I hear FSUSA's is less sweet) and some are quite sweet
