What is RY4? I mean, what is it supposed to emulate? I tried it from a sampler pack and thought it was horrible, in both PG and VG mixes. The TH is like that of the strongest tobacco I can imagine, about makes me cough every time. Only thing that comes to mind might be those Galouise (sp?) French cigs.

OTOH, I love TAB and Kamel (one would think these would have a pretty heavy TH, emulating some of the strongest cigs on the American market), in either PG or VG - no major TH problems with these.

RY4 originally stood for "Ruyan #4", Ruyan being the original electronic cigarette maker in China. The RY series of e-liquids were some of the original flavors brought to market. They don't necessarily taste like any particular analog, but are individual flavors in their own right. Many, many different e-liquid creators have made their own RY4 copies/variations over the years, so RY4 is no longer identifiable as a single flavor. True to the original, it would be a caramel, tobacco and vanilla flavor, with maybe a hint of nut. The throat hit will vary by manufacturer , nicotine level and VG/PG ratio, but most RY4 will be more sweet than harsh.

And every RY4 is different. Some are sweet, some not, some very tobacco-y, some not

My fave sweet one is oRYental 4 from FreedomSmokeUSA ut it's a fairly light simplistic one from a Flavourart flavoring but I like it as a light caramel and I used to use ti to sweeten other tobaccos

Some vendors blend their own

There is a huge thread somewhere about RY4's - here it is. ooo - I guess I need to try some RY4's that are further up the list (further up than dead last anyway) haha

I make my own RY4, and it is one of my two all day vapes. I make mine on the sweet side; not real tobacco-y. There probably are as many variations of RY4 as there are people making it. The only thing they have in common is that RY4 must contain three things. Tobacco, Vanilla, and Caramel. The proportions are where the recipes vary, as well as other things the mixer might add. Don't judge all RY4 by one mixer or company's product.

What a great history lesson on RY4. Thanks for that :) The RY4s I have vary so wildly it's crazy they have the same name. The constant is most have a sweetness to them (not all, LOL). Some have a nice tobacco background and others taste like carmel and vanilla mixed together with no tobacco. I enjoy trying them. It's like buying mystery juice.

That was the first e-cig that I had (I believe I still have it somewhere in the house) and RY4 was the flavor that the cartridges were loaded with. Maybe this is why up-to-day RY4 is still my favorite flavor, although I now order it from Janty (it was Janty that acquired the Ruyan rights, wasn't it?)
A week ago I decided to taste other vendor's RY4s, so I ordered 3 different RY4 from 3 different suppliers. Still waiting (in Greece everything comes slowly :) but I hope that they will live up to my - high - expectations.

Well I'm very new to vaping and haven't tried very many different flavors yet but I got some DeKang RY4 and I'm not digging it at all.

I'm so disappointed after hearing so many good things about it.

It seems to have a 'dark' taste and very nutty. I can taste the caramel but the nutty taste gets in the way and I'm not detecting the vanilla (perhaps a very very very faint after taste).

I have heard some RY4's described as nutty and some as not. Any suggestions on one that is on the sweet 'light' side without the nutty flavor?

I mean the mix of tobacco and caramel and vanilla sounds really good but this bottle of DeKang RY4 is yucky to me.

I do have a bottle of French Vanilla Tobacco (not DeKang ... got this from MadVapes) and I'm loving it. The tobacco is mild and the vanilla is very strong and it is sort of sweet. Just saying this to compare to my reaction to RY4 (since Vanilla and Tobacco are a flavor / taste component of RY4).

Don't give up on RY4 if you've only tried a few vendors. It's a pretty standard juice that has quite a few variations.

Chances are, if you are new to vaping, you'll have several tobacco flavors, as well as several vanillas and caramels. Get some empty bottles and try mixing them up and making a version you will enjoy.

I bought some Dekang RY4 from a local vendor and found it tasted somewhat like grape, and I don´t know how do I get that taste, but I do like it.

What I do with it is take 3 parts of it and add 1 part VG and a few drops of Loranss Blackberry... I like it very much. (I buy it 26mg and dilute it to 19...)

Edited to add that I bought some DK-Tab and loathed it! To me it just tastes like an ashtray... I found out that if I vape it I get nauseated right away. A lot of users love it, but it is really not for me. I guess taste is like a belly button: everybody has their own.

You need to check out the thread below. Dekang RY4 is not really a sweet vape to begin with. The tobacco is more front and center with undertones of the other flavors. The thread has a good ranking and break down of different RY4s from tobacco strong to more dessert tasting RY4s. I'm sure you'll find one that suites your needs.

I also HATED that RY4 and the 555 everyone raves about. Yuck, now I'm stuck with 20ml of juice I cannot stand to vape. I was so excited to get it and my disappointment was huge. I'll be going to a vaping meet in a few weeks and hopefully I can give it away or possibly swap it.
