Not sure if this was known - they did a short piece a week ago on what they called the "Ceramic Cigarette".

Ceramic Cigarette Option May Save Smokers Cash - cbs5.com

I feel like a big kid in long pants now being able to post links to the News Forum. Are there other benefits? I heard there's a special "Premiere vaping Room" where attendants cater to the juice needs of the Elect. Fact or fiction?

:D

I really like my e-cigs! Thanks for all for this board and the information!

Thanks! This board has been, well, I hope at some point to point back and say the e-cig was a life saver, literally.

I don't know how SF is able to ban use across the board. E-cig's don't circulate second hand smoke, nor carry the carcinogenic ingredients tobacco cig's do.

I guess in Gavin Newsom Country (I'm not a fan of his but fortunately I don't live in his city) if it looks like a cigarette, it is a cigarette. It seems like over kill political correctness to me, and in a city that presents itself as socially liberal it's counter productive to anything resembling progressive personal rights IMO.

I felt it was a positive piece too. My wife saw it and asked if they were the same thing I'd just bought. I also liked that the person they featured was moderate on the public ban. I feel that way too, it's better to pick the battles and avoid the screaming-jeebies that won't allow fact to replace perception.

No good deed goes unpunished, it would seem. 8-o But there's hope!

So they violate SFs indoor smoking ban. Interesting. I wonder how they justify that? Have they passed a new law or is there something different about the wording in the existing law?

This is the first I've heard; I'm hoping it's just inaccurate info. I've vaped in several bars around here and not had any problems. My PV doesn't look anything like a cigarette though.

Heres what I love from the video:

"Here in San Fransisco, the health departement says, light up one of these, and you'll be cited."

I would be inclined to vape just to get the health department to show me how I "lite it up", and laugh at them when they couldnt. I would think the health departement would know the difference between lighting up and battery operated.

My best,

That's good to hear, cowgal! Last night we met friends up in Healdsburg and I - briefly - vaped out front of this restaurant. Didn't get a glance from anyone. Being able to slip it in my pocket helped, a couple vapes and it was gone, no one even noticed I think.

"....light up one of these, and you'll be cited..."
Probably for starting a noxious fumes plastics fire! :D Guess there's a new sher-uff in town. Yeah...they're gettin' it. NOT.

BTW I have a friend that goes by "JR" (John R.)
I've been married for 38 years. Never been called JR though with any degree of regularity and not shot at, that I know of (although there was that one time when...well, 'nother time for that). I'm up about an hour north of the City by the Bay. Married in Berzerkely, at Newman Center. There were about 200 fine people of all ages and stripe. Best day of my life and in the Top 5 Days I'd Live Over Again In Eternity, If At All Possible.
