I have a Maxi roughstack and absolutely love it, Great mod. Tough as nails, reliable and so versatile. It's my constant companion all day and I don't have to worry about a little scratch or nick on it from a bit of abuse while at work (in fact legend has it that the RS performs better after it has earned a few dents and dings). Have been thinking of getting a more elegant mod for at home times and when in social settings. Have been looking at the Saber touch but it seems that there is never anyone ranting about it, never one in the classifieds and just a general lack of much of anything about it.

So here's my question. Who has one and what are your thoughts on it. Is the lack of banter about it due to the Saber Touch club being a secret society like the freemasons? Do I never see one on the classifieds because no one has one or they are just to great to give up?

Any feedback would be great. Thanks.

I had a saber touch mini and loved it. It vaped like a tank and was extremely durable. I think the big things now are bottom feeders and custom mods. The saber has been out for awhile so it might be yesterday's news. I think the reason you never see any in the classifieds is because everyone keeps them. They're a great mod with very few problems. The mini was perfect because you could take it everywhere in your pocket. The only reason I sold mine was because I get tired of the same thing and I saw a pipe mod that looks and vapes exactly like a real pipe.

Thanks for the reply Blueboy.

The bottom feeders are the rage right now but I'm not interested in them. The VV mods seem great, but I'm thinking that after a short while I would probably have it set at 1 spot and never move it anyway (more than likely right around 5 volts).

I pretty much have figured out that I like a tube mod at 5 volts with a dual coil. Easy-peasy. no constant searching and spending. When I first started my vaping quest I had seen the Saber Touch but didn't really care for it. Now the more I look at it the more it appeals to me but am kinda stymied as to why I never hear anyone spew praise about their Saber and yet I never see one for sale.

It just looks like a nice sturdy mod and hope some folks can chime in also. Thanks again Blueboy.

hey hawkizefan the Saber is a very good mod. My first mod was a 5volt regulated Blue saber and I loved it. I also bought one for my sister the 3.7-6volt Black one. Sir Lawrence is one of the Best for customer service and just a all around Great guy. I used my 5volt for 6months with no trouble with it at all. Its a work horse. I traded mine for a bunch of ego stuff to get my son into vaping and I must say I do miss it.

I have been thinking of trying the Dual coils and have been reading all the post I can find on them. I am using Boge LR 510 cartos now. A lot of ppl are saying the sweet spot is around 4.1-4.5 volts. Your only gonna be able to hit that with a VV mod. With that said the VV saber touch's circuitry wont allow you to get(with dual coils) that for some reason it lowers automatically to 3.7-3.8. You can do a search and find info about that as well as some that have been sold in the classifieds. I was real close to getting one but changed my mind on it.

5v one looks nice but I would rather have more flexibility when I get my next mod.

Good luck

Be careful OP and others. The Saber is a great mod, works flawless...but not with Dual Coil Cartos (at least the 1.5ohm DC's). I believe the IC in the Saber Touch VV and 5v regulated has a +/-2-2.5amp max safety limit. I had a ST VV and could not get the loaded voltage above 3.8v regardless of what I set the volts at on the mod. The ST VV and regulated will fire the DC's but if you have a piece of equipment like this Assembled Volt Indicator , you will see that the actual volts delivered to the atty will never go beyond 3.8v. That may be fine for most but I preffer to get about 4.5v loaded voltage to my 1.5ohm DC's for that "sweet spot".

Again, great mod, very nice lines, solid as a tank, lifetime firing mechanism, great service through Sir Lawrence, but if you run alot of DC's and want to see how DC's can truely pump vapor and TH between 4 and 5v (under load), you won't get there with the ST VV or regulated (at least not as of about 1 month ago). If Sir Lawrence changes the IC in the mod and up's the amp limit...different story. One other thing, the ST will be larger in your hand than the Maxi Roughstack.

Thanks wildbill. Nice to know that someone actually had one. I guess on the plus side I've yet to hear anything negative about the Saber touch,,lol.

Diablo! The dualies are nice. I switch between them and the boge 2.0"s depending on what I'm vaping. I use the duals @ 5 and 6 volt (have at 7.4 before and sorta liked the heat but the flavor totally sucked)for tobacco juices and the 2.o's at 3.7 mainly for sweeter vapes, but that isn't very often. You say the circuitry on the VV will restrict the dualies to 3.8ish, but what about the regulated 5 volt model? Any Idea?

Now that's kinda a bummer but is exactly the feedback I was looking for. Don't want to drop $$ on something that won't work with the gear I like. Guess I should contact Sir Lawrence and ask him about it. Thanks for the info.

I've got a mini breast cancer awareness Saber Touch. Sir Lawrence is a fabulous seller. The ST is flawlessly made. This is probably one of the safest mods on the market. Not only is it safe, it's aesthetically pleasing, battery life is great, & it's light to carry. Sir Lawrence runs specials pretty often. There is no accidental firing with this mod, as your fingers need to be pretty "wet" to fire it. The body of the mod is negative, and YOUR BODY is positive. So, when you touch the brass cap along with the little black piece on the mod body it fires. Works great if you use lotion, or are drinking a soda or bottle of water & it is perspiring. I'm not into dual coil, HV or anything like that, but the ST works great with a tank, or cartomizer. I REALLY like the design/idea of the ST. Just like another poster said, people hold onto these, because they really are an excellent mod.

If you are looking for VV, try a Buzz or an Infinity. These are the Original VV PVs & the pro edition is due to be released in a few weeks. Like I said, I don't do a whole lot of VV, unless i'm doing a juice review, but i'm VERY happy with my NotCigs Infinity, I can dial my own voltage & it's another gorgeous PV.

I have been eyeballing the buzz pro, I love the idea of the thumb wheel to change the voltage. Looks very high quality and the price is very good on it. Looks like the first ones should be rolling out in a couple of weeks. Other one I have been looking at is the Big Daddy vari cool but have not heard if it works with the DC's as it does have a mosfet installed on the switching regulator. This was a change the modder did just a few weeks ago so it may be able to take a few amps but not sure.

I own both the st mini and the rough stack mini. Both are great same strong hits. The Sabor takes a smaller 16340 battery but a 18350 will fit in it Barely. A 16340 also works in a the rough stack. Myself I run them both on the imr 16340 link below
AW IMR16340 550 mAh IMR CR123 size LiMN Rechargeable Lithium Battery
You may get a extra hour use with the 18350 but its not worth it. Switch to the safer Imr's

Good luck with your decision. You've got some great suggestions from experienced vapers to consider, which is what I love about ECF. I had a thought though and I hope you don't mind...

Standard cartos are less expensive and allow you to crank up voltage on any variable device to get to the blastful vape experience of your dreams. I'm a dual coil fan but I often wonder why anyone uses LR and dual coils to replicate an even higher voltage if we have actual high voltage at our disposal.

Dual coils are straight genius on a 3.7v battery. On variable voltage I like the capacity they offer for sure but other than that...mostly I see that people are thrilled they can vape LR at 5v without burning the carto. My question is, why not just vape a standard or HV carto at higher voltage? When I first quit I vaped standard ElectronicStix cartos at 6v on my Silver Bullet and they really hit the spot.

I bought the very first Saber when they came out over a year ago now and it still fires up flawlessly. Just this week I received my fifth Saber, the special edition beauty. You can use LR attys and even the new 5 volt Nimh's fit and give you that perfect vape. No doubt about it- they are good!:thumb:

A post from Sir Lawrence on the Vapor Moon forum! This is great news for anyone wanting to use dual coils on the Saber Touch.

Well Everyone...

I've been vaping all day with the new, High Powered Saber Touch VariVolt with dual cartos on it...
Now I have broken the 3.7v barrier and now you can take it up, under load, to 4.5v!
And with the dual cartos, that produces so much vapor!

Also, the new High Powered Saber Touch "true" 5v Regulated, under load with dual cartos on it, will always vape at 5v!

I don't think anyone has this capability on their mods, and expecially with a Touch Sensor that will never burn out!

I will be putting these on my site soon... keep a lookout for the option to add that circuitry!

Now see...that kind of reply/info was what I was looking for when I started this mess. I'll be honest...right now I have it down to 3 (or 4...the new decorated all up maxi roughstack is very appealing because I KNOW what I am going to get with this mod...straight-up reliable,versatile..etc...) the new BUZZ piques my intrest as does the Saber.

I really like the look of the saber and the switch and all....time to start putting the pennies away and to s$@t or get off the pot. Sorry to be so wishy-washy y'all...I know what I have with my Maxi...and now I can bling it up a bit..

Anybody out there have both, the Roughstack and the Sabertouch??? If so I would be very interested in hearing your thoughts on both.

Also looking at the GLV, but for me, there is just something about it that keeps nagging me.
