Nic`d Up in Oklahoma!
Yeah, it should..... However accidents happen.
Reversing a battery in a mech is walking a tightrope without a net.

No room at all for mistakes or accidents.

OK, I`ll bite, LOL. If you are using a trust fire, maybe not, but you should`nt be using a trust fire, you know? If you are respecting the battery, its should be no problem. If the bat slides in the way it should, no problem. If its got a problem, find and fix that before going any further.

This design is only as dangerous as the end user is safe. It is NOT inherently dangerous just because of the way its designed. That`s the kind of logic that says a firearm can jump up in the air all by itself and shoot granny. Guns just don`t do that all by themselves.

Lech Wallenda walked Niagara, :?) Some would say (Jump up and down while screaming?) that it was dangerous, but I`m sure he knew what he was doing, you know?

FWIW, I own a couple of these now, so if I stop posting, LOL. But damn do they HIT like a loaded freight train going downhill, LOL.

Peace, and vape.

Are you insinuating that a quality battery wont vent violently?
Thats ridiculous. Where did you hear that?

The scenario i posted about above happened at a cloud comp.

The vape store employee installed the battery. It was a new cell.
Accident.
It can happen to anyone.

With over 100 mechanicals in my collection I stand by my statement. Its a dangerous design, thats asking for trouble.

Know your gear.

Ya, Is`nt that why we use "safer chemistry" battery's?

Its all good bud. I understand your fear, I just wont buy into it.

No.
You are dangerously incorrect.

Imr cells will all vent. Violently if sealed in a tube.
These are lithium batteries.

You need to do a bit more research on battery safety.

Im not selling anything.
See for yourself.
Google is your friend.

Its all good bud. I understand your fear, there are valid concerns. But I wont buy into it, it adds one more level of safety concern and once addressed there is no need for any hysteria.[/QUOTE

Are you refering to me?

Do you think quality IMR batteries won't vent violently?

Did you bother to actually do any research?

Putting gas in a car is more dangerous than using a mechanical.

However both can get you hurt or killed if you dont actually understand what you are doing.

Yes I'm referring to you. You think and act like you are the only person capable of using a mech and are the authority on mech's and batteries. If you don't agree read what you type.

I am a frequent visitor to the mech mod section here and I have to disagree with your impression of Ninja. The guy speaks from experience and has potentially helped many new users by making them aware of the risks involved. It's better to be warned and then make your own risk judgements then walk into these things thinking everything is safe.

I'm sure he's scared new mech users into throwing their mech's in the garbage or calling the bomb squad to come dispose of them.

I encourage users to educate themselves about the gear they are using.
Beyond a youtube video.
I also encourage using common sense.

If you dont have time to educate yourself, mechs and a careless attitude will get you hurt.

Most explosive accidents are due to user error.
The mod/battery rarely fails on its own.

Same thing Ive always said.

I dont discourage mech use.
I use them almost exclusively.

I do on occasion discourage an uneducated vaper who wants to jump straight to super sub ohm vaping on an advaced pinless mech before understanding exactly what they are sticking in their mouths.

I may not have the most polite bedside manner but we are all grown adults here. Suck it up buttercup.

I wanted to add a caution, besides ensuring your 510 pin on the atomizer protrudes and will Stay protruding, keep an eye on your positive contact on batteries, when using direct-to-battery mods. Especially if the fire button works by pushing against the battery itself, this can cause a battery's positive terminal to become dented, and if it gets dented in enough, it may touch both 510 pin and threading on an atomizer...which is a short and will be bad news bears.

I'm about to ditch my SMPL and pick a nice dual 18650 with a side fire mechanism, because even with what I consider gentle use, I have two batteries that are noticeably dented :(
