Sometimes I worry about the safety of vaping. Not so much the effects of inhaling vape, but the dangers of injury because of mods exploding etc. I know most of the batteries, coils, mods etc are chineese made as cheaply as possible so I worry about proper safety measures with these electrical devices. Has anyone heard of, or had any instances themselves while vaping?

USA. State: Inebriated.
The instances are very rare, and usually there are "warning signs" that the informed, safe vaper would realize.

I've heard of people getting burned from putting an unlocked mod in their pocket (user error), and in all the instances of low resistances going awry with batteries, that's user error for them not realizing that it's dumb, and they're exceeding the amperage of their batteries. And even before they vent, there are warning signs. There will be misfires, the button will get hot.. In one video I saw with a guy's battery venting, he was using a towel to fire the mod.. Obviously if your mod is too hot for you to hold, you should stop what you're doing. It's not easy to get a battery to vent.

The main reason I made the switch from eGo type batteries to 18650 replaceable battery regulated mod, was an incident which occured where one of my eGo batts started smoking on me and I had to drop it on the ground and watch it helplessly.

Now I got 2 regulated 18650 mods, and a mech with a kick, and my main vape is a wire with a vamo5s control head on 7.5 vdc with no battery to worry about. I don't use low ohm coils and probably never will unless I can do so without a lot of heat and probably on a wire.

Do a lot of research on safety & batteries, etc.

I have not had any problems following advice here on ECF.

Many say to stay away from any brands of batts & chargers with a brand name that contains "fire".

Hope this link works to help you out. If not, do a Search = Baditude's Blogs.

E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs

Hope that helps.

BTW. Sure do miss the great Baditude around here. Hope he's doing OK. Anyone know?
