Hi all,

Hi all,

I am a week old e cigg convert and enjoying it so far, especially the $$ saving aspect e ciggs have allowed me :)

As with any new user, I am extremely concerned about safety first and foremost.

So far, Tom Holloway seems to be the only unfortunate soul who experienced this, and as I read, he used a modded cigg that lead to it exploding in his mouth.

I have the ego V made by SLB: Electronic cigarettes|Electronic cigarette manufacturer|SLB E-cigarette|Sailebao Technology

1) Has anyone heard anything negative about SLB products at all?

2) Has anyone else heard or read stories about e ciggs exploding in their mouths beside Tom Holloway?

nope, and we harp on new people to death about the safety aspect of the batteries we use so it doesnt happen.

the idiot in the article used a home made mod made incorrectly, didnt follow basic safety rules and a list of other stupid things.
batteries when they fail are made to vent hot gas specifically so they dont explode....

to be clear - he took a tube that was sealed, stacked unknown batteries together, did not check the coil he was using, and had a short circuit, when the battery vented, the gas could not escape the tube, the pressure built up and turned the tube into a pipebomb eventually exploding. this exact failure is why all the bigger units have vent holes in them.

in most cases of failure for ego types have been common sense issues, you dont leave the battery charging in the car unattended in the middle of summer with the widows rolled up kind of things.

as with all things electronic and containing batteries a few will always get through the QC check at the factory but in most cases there is a noticeable problem before things get seriously out of hand and even when there is a failure batteries dont simply go boom.

when the cases are designed correctly an end cap popping off isnt the same thing as an explosion., if you search and search you will find more issues with cellphones and laptops compared to ecigs.

SLB is a very well known and highly regarded Ecig manufacturer. They were the first to release a 3.7 volt eGo style PV (Kgo). From personal experience I can tell you the failure rate on their batteries is very low....I've distributed hundreds of the Kgo batts.
