Hello all! First thank you to everyone who operates and participates in these forums. This is bar-none the best resource I've found for vaping.

I smoked analog cigarettes on and off for the past two decades. Last month, based on a recommendation from a co-worker, I bought an eGo-T atty and accessories. vaping is so much better on so many levels, I will never ever go back to tobacco products!

My girlfriend switched to digital shortly after I did, and went with an Aspire BDC. My atty burned out quickly and I attempted to replace the wick without success. Liking her rig because of the ease of switching out cartridges, I got one myself. But I really like the eGo's ability to swap tanks/flavors quickly, and the fact that the eGo-T type B is more flush/slender. I was looking at the eGo-C type B, since it appears to have all of the qualities I'm looking for. However, searching online I'm finding mixed reviews on the replacement heads (longevity, price). And at least one site mentions the product is discontinued - not sure if that's true (maybe they're just discontinuing carrying the product) but if it is I don't want to buying it.

So my question to the more experienced folk out there is: Is there an atomizer out there that's compatible with the Joyetech tanks which is 1) Reliable 2) Easily Rebuildable and 3) Has affordable replacement cartridges? Alternately, any recommendations for a similar configuration where tanks and cartridges can be changed out easily, and has a slender physical profile?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

My starter kit 3 weeks ago was an EVOD 2. Like the previous poster said the coils are replaceable by simply unscrewing from the base plate and screwing another one in its place. If I'm understanding things correctly the EVOD is a single coil and the EVOD 2 is a double coil and I don't believe the coils are interchangeable but they do fit on an ego style connection. Prices for replacement coils seem to be in the $2 range online and they are $3 at my local B&M. Kangertech also makes the T3 line of clearomisers. T3S for the single coils and T3D for the double coils. They are roughly the same size as the EVOD's but they have a clear tank and use the same coils. After that is the protank line, and then the aerotanks. They all use the same coils so you don't have to upgrade the coils as you upgrade your tanks (but do check as I believe the protank 1 and 2 use single coils and the 3 uses doubles. Not sure about the aerotanks other than the Mega and it uses doubles)

I have used the EVOD 2's and T3D's so far and I have an aerotank mega and an MVP2 on the way. I have yet to actually burn one out but they do get gunked up after used for a while (depends on the juice and how much you use it). Its a pretty simple matter to replace the coils after they get gunked up but I have been cleaning up the used coils and reusing them. I just rinse the coils under hot water, remove the wick's carefully with a pair of tweezers. Dry burn the coils and then rerinse with water and dry. Thread a very small amount of sterilized cotton ball back through the coils, trim the cotton to the size of the old wick, and then soak the cotton with some juice before re-installing it. The flavor seems a lot more robust with the cotton wick, but maybe its just me.

All in all, I've been pleased with the Kangers both with their ease of use and they seem very user friendly if you want to tinker or rebuild.

Honestly, the Kanger T3-s has been the most reliable clearo I have used. I have like 8 kayfun clones, 2 russian clones, taifun clone and a fogger and some random kanger and bdc tanks. Although I have not used the T3-S as much as my rebuildables, it has never given me trouble and the heads have lasted for weeks. If you want to, I would get into rebuildables like the Kayfun or Taifun GT(which is my current favorite and has been silky smooth.) Supplies won't cost you much, and you can build what you desire.
